WHAT'S HAPPENING IN COLOMBIA?
Iván Duque, current president of colombia, has been the administrator of an extremely corrupt government for the past few years.
He has stolen money and diverted resources from the beginning.
A few weeks ago, a new reform called "tax reform" was announced, which consists of the added internal value of products being even higher than they already were. This affects the pocket of the average Colombian and enriches the government with money that does not belong to it.
Duque assures that this tax is to "fill the economic gap left by the expenses of the pandemic in the health system" but that's not true (obviously).
This is why Colombian people decided to protest against said tax reform. A few days after the protests a coup was generated, which resulted in a negotiation on the Tax Reform.
However, these peaceful protests have also resulted in a violent response by the government, generating repression, deaths, rapes, forced disappearances and many injured people.
