just wanted to draw a little doodle of some gals bein nerds together but then my mind was assaulted by a vision of nein nine eyes so this is what it turned into. but anyway they’ll get to the bottom of this mystery, i believe in them and their shared brain cell.

There, in a torch-lit tavern inn interior, you see the figures that you saw scryed on once before, gathered around in conversation with a bit of anxiety and hope in their eyes.

The phrasing Ashton chose here is so important to me. Laudna was the first to call their group a family, and she probably did it too soon; they were still new friends. At that point, Ashton had hedged if they even were friends. This is the first time they've called the hells family, and it happened right after Laudna's lowest moment. When she was scared that she'd undone the work they did to free her from Delilah, scared that she'd betrayed her friends by giving into her darkest instincts, he casually called them family as if the word had always been there. I love how deeply kind Ashton is to her. This was such a quick moment but so powerful.

Very quick and rough sketch tonight bc this episode really threw me (and I know I wont have time to sketch this anytime this coming week).

Ashton gently taking Prism away, turning her around because she doesn’t need to see this. Ashton, who has seen so much, met with terror and loss before they could even understand it. Ashton, in the middle of all that grief and betrayal, having the mind to protect Prism, to shelter her from witnessing the worst of it.

Ashton approaching Laudna ever so carefully, watching one of his closest friends completely break, seeing a darkest side of her than he’s ever seen before, and just reaching out to her. Ashton repeatedly telling Laudna it’s gonna be okay, holding her as she cries on their shoulder.

Ashton being the voice of reason and the hand of kindness at the worst moments of the worst times. Ashton taking care of the people that matter to him. Ashton never giving up, never leaving anyone behind.

So, guess who just binged-watched Dimension 20’s “A Court of Fey and Flowers”?…me. And it’s going to happily rot in my skull for all times and I couldn’t be more overjoyed <3
