The song that Mei sings that begins with, “A Rare Beauty in the North” is actually an ancient poem set to music. It was written by the brother of an Imperial Concubine about his sister. Meant as a cautionary tale to the Emperor about overindulgence in female beauty at the same time it acknowledged the lasting hurt of a powerful love.

I haven’t realise before that I was a lazy girl who only draw tired people with closed eyes hehehe
Maybe I’ll make more of them someday, I haven’t make a octogonal one yet!

maedhros did deeds of surpassing valour, and the orcs fled before his face; for since his torment upon thangorodrim his spirit burned like a white fire within, and he was as one that returns from the dead

A smaller river that ran from the Mountains of Mirkwood was enchanted to such an extent that it caused slumber and forgetfulness to anyone who fell into it.

Finn McCool was a mythical hunter-warrior of Irish mythology, appearing also in Scottish and Manx stories. His name in Gaelic is Fionn mac Cumhaill with Fionn meaning “fair” or “bright”. There are many stories of his exploits from a young age, including gaining insight from the Salmon of Knowledge and defeating the fire-breathing man of the Sidhe, Aillen. Legend has it that he built the Giant’s Causeway as a stepping stone between Scotland and Ireland, dropping an island in the sea to also form the Isle of Man. Fingal’s Cave in Scotland, also named after him, shares the same hexagonal basalt columns as the Giant’s Causeway.
