"Tamed" Acrylic on Wood
"Twenty-five and Counting" I've been doing some self reflection this year about what I've done and what I've been through. Sometimes it feels like luck that I'm where I'm at today; other times, it feels like my friends and family are the sole reason I'm here. Either way, here's to twenty-five years on this earth; twenty-five arrows dodged. I'm grateful for every minute. Now, onto the next year!
"Cut off a wolf's head and it still has the power to bite." Quick little study from tonight. Love me some badass Moro.

"The Old God" Based on #31 of last year's Inktober. I really liked the feel and idea behind the drawing, but wasn't sure how to execute it. I had a leftover scratchboard that needed using, so I decided to try it. Pretty pleased ^.^
The Sneak Up Beast A creature so big, so silent, and so deadly, a hero braved certain death to attach an enchanted bell around it's neck so it could never sneak up on unwary innocents again. Yet, even though it is hobbled, it is still heard, prowling the edges of the jungle, its bell clanging away...
The two best doodles of the night.
"The Fox and the Grapes" One of Aesop's Fables that I've always thought was interesting. It refers to a fox who finds grapes in a tree that he cannot reach, and he suddenly decides they're no good anyway. The moral is that there are people who will pretend to hate that which is beyond their grasp. I wanted this to look like an old storybook, thus the filigree and gold paint on the edges. I learned a lot from making this, and I would do it a lot differently if I did it again, but for what it is, I am happy.
Week three of figure drawing. (I'm skipping week two because it was kind of a weird mess. The cafe next door decided to blast Lady Gaga until the walls shook and then beat each other with cookie sheets, so my focus was less than stellar)
Aaaand here’s the rest of the showable figure drawings from today.
Seriously, drawing like this again was like being in art nirvana.
(I will learn to draw people goddammit)
((also the mobile app was being a jerk tonight. For real.))
I ran out of fucks to give when I got to the head/hair.
Been feeling the urge to make some strange dragon face sketches. Trying to get comfortable showing mass, form, and texture with pen. Not sure which is harder.
Aaaand the wolf is a result of a series of very terrible phone calls and waiting on hold.

I hope that in 2017 you will keep making art and doing your best, even when you don’t see progress for a while
Finally figured out wtf Krita is all about. Kinda. Sorta. Not really but I tried. I've IL ways struggled with digital art, but it's been so long since I've made any that this really showed me what I need to work on. Either way, this beastie is for a friend.
