The Girl

Long, long ago,

in a tale of one who wanted to go,

lived a girl with a heart of gold.

Her mother, so poor and so old

was destined to fall.

As the girl grew up in a town of all,

she became a bard

in the King's yard.

Time flew by,

she had nothing to buy.

As the King became a tyrant

she became so silent.

The young girl was fired

But a old gentleman made sure she was hired.

Into the old antique store, she lived and worked.

Her past with evil still lurked.

She had enough one day.

"I'm sorry," she sighed and turned away,

as she grabbed the drink.

With one last blink,

she gulped it down

and she had her hallucinations of the King with a crown.

To my future sons,
