this is my final assignment for Java 1, we’re supposed to make an app that helps a pizza shop owner keep track of her pizza orders and it had so much features to implement, i feel sick thinking of pizza now

the whole time, i wrote the word pizza and it was always underlined... and today i checked and realized eclipse doesnt know ... the word.. pizza..

my code looks pretty messy from here but it’s actually not that bad haha..... i guess....

A video game that teaches you how to code

“I think everybody in this country should learn how to program a computer because it teaches you how to think,” Steve Jobs said in a rediscovered interview from 1995.

But for a beginner, learning to code from scratch can be intimidating.

Enter CodeSpells. UC San Diego computer scientists developed this video game to teach people how to code. The story line is simple: You’re a wizard that uses spells (i.e. code) to navigate through the world, fight off foes, and solve problems.

While experienced coders can delve deep into the programming to create some truly devastating spells, newbies can easily experiment with the simple drag-and-drop coding interface.

If you’re into Minecraft, the CodeSpells team also has developed LearnToMod — a tool that teaches coding through Minecraft.

Hey guys, I got my first official AP CS homework on friday (9/11) but I wasn’t at school that day, and oh my gosh, I’m so overwhelmed. If ANYONE can help with simple coding, like all I need to do is make a sketch out of text character that has to be at least 15 lines long, like I am really desperate. I would greatly appreciate anyone right about now, it’s too early in the school year for me to be this overwhelmed, ugh.

Here was how I solved the two problems.

For the first, it uses nested for loops to go through the array to compare the entries to another. To start, I broke this problem down into what it needed to do:

1.Go through the array and compare each value to the other values.

2.When it compares, see if the chosen value is the same or one more or less than the ones it is being compared against.

After this, I came up with some examples and what they would return.

[1,5,3,90,54] would return true. [1,6,2,5,7] would return false.

After this I looked at the declaration of all the for loops. From this, I concluded that III doesn’t work because k will always go back to 1 so that if j is 1, it will be comparing against itself, returning a false before there really is one.

I then looked at I and II by plugging in example arrays. I found that both of them work.

For the second, it gives you an array and asks what the result is once the for loop has run through. I solved this by plugging in each of the values as if I'm the computer reading the code. Just keep in mind that the line nums[k] += sign(nums[k]); that the italicized portion is referring to the new value of nums[k] from the previous line. I got the answer E.

Disclaimer: Its been since May that I've really coded so there may be inaccuracies in my explanation. I did check these by plugging the code into a program and seeing if it would work. If you've got anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask. Also, I'm not great at explanation so if any of this isn't clear, just comment and I'll do my best to clarify or correct.

1. Do not kill bees, they aren’t trying to hurt you and rarely sting (because they die if they sting) chances are they’re buzzing around you because you’re wearing a bright colour and they think you’re a flower

2. If you see one on the ground, it’s probably not dead, try feeding it some sugar water or put it on a flower so it can get energy

3. Put bee friendly flowers in your garden so they have lots of pollen and maybe put a bee house too

4. If you have a bees nest in your attic/garden/shed etc, don’t call an exterminator! Call a bee keeper instead so they can be rehomed rather than being killed

Bees are very important and must be looked after! Without bees, humans wouldn’t survive
