I hate Discrimination

Today I did a follow-up on a possible job prospect.(dishwasher in a bar). I was completely up front told him I was blind but I did all household chores at home. He then said if your blind how can I work. My response was" with a green pad, soap, water...is that not how you do it. The conversation then ended on social media. What else did he expect me to say ?

How are we to survive!!!!

I have been legally blind for 10 years and can only see objects when I put my face down too it. I read braille, use a screen reader to go on social media. But yet I can not find work ...liability they say.

Rehab to run

9 years ago my right knee completely ruptured, while I was waiting to be seen by a doctor my weight ballooned to over 400 + lbs and put me in a wheelchair. 2 years later I become legally blind with minimal sight. In 2012, I decided I didn't want to die so I gradually tried to walk with minimal success. I had called twice to receive a guide dog twice. Finally I forced myself to stay on my feet all day without sitting till evening. By the fall I video myself walking all over town and sent it to the guide dog school and won another chance at getting a dog. In March of 2015, I under went gastric sleeve surgery my BW was 440 and my goal GW is 164lbs and my current weight is 224lbs. Now I would like to beat the odds again and run again after 20 yr absence from the sport.
