ohhh we love a good âforced to torture your friend while undercover as a bad guyâ donât we
like. when you meet their eyes and you both know you have to do it and you have to do it well
Creepy/Intimate Whumpers + Manhandling <3
Grabbing whumpee by the scruff of their shirt to lift them up, making their legs kick in the air
Holding whumpee up by their underarms and pinning them against a wall
Curling an arm around whumpee's waist to keep their back flush against whumper's chest
Dragging whumpee into their lap and caging them in with crossed legs
Bracing an arm across whumpee's chest while the other puts their neck in a chokehold, preventing them from struggling away
Scooping whumpee up to carry their bridal style, knowing they're too weak to do anything by lay against whumper's shoulder
Alternatively, throwing a feisty whumpee over their shoulder and letting them kick as much as they want
Restraining whumpee in a forced cuddle until they finally run out of energy and go limp in the embrace
Teasingly holding their arms out open for whumpee to go to on their own, their only option to accept
Yanking whumpee down from wherever they've scrambled up to, causing them to fall into awaiting arms
Dragging a hidden whumpee out from their spot by their ankle no matter how hard they try to claw the ground
Pinning whumpee down just for a perfect view of their face, straddling their hips and holding both wrists in one hand
Forcing whumpee to stay quiet and obedient in whumper's hold on display or risk getting snatched up by someone much worse
and don't get my started on tiny whumpees
the sluttiest thing a whumper can do is wrap their arm around whumpees torso mid-escape attempt and growl a low âoh, no you donâtâŠâ in their ear.
Forced to watch with Team Leader
Idk there's something so good about a team watching their beloved, kind, smart, strong Leader suddenly falling to pieces in front of them.
It's not like they don't have more than a few scars of their own. But they've never known torture like this.
Tearfullt trying to reassure their team that they're fine, they're okay, honest-
Until they're very much not.
Blood dripping down their skin, limbs battered and bruised, broken bones, black eyes-
Worst of all, was the screams.
They tried to keep it in, they really really did. They didn't want to worry and scare their beloved team any more than they knew they already would be-
But it hurt so much.
It hurt so, so much.
And it's only the beginning.

the 'tried to kill you' to found family pipeline tho
Whumpee being manhandled into restraints:
Shoved up against a wall and handcuffed.
Pinned to the floor and handcuffed.
Fighting for each limb as theyâre forced down on a table, slowly secured by leather restraints.
Overwhelmed by multiple Whumpers, each one working to subdue them.
Yanked back by their hair so a collar or rope can easily be fitted around their throat.
Pinned while in combat (double points for being caged against a wall or trapped in a chokehold)
Improvised restraints like belts, sheets, or clothing when Whumpee wonât be still enough to retrieve proper ones.
Manhandled in a hospital bed, held down for the duration of a procedure.
Injected with a chemical restraint, a sedative or numbing agent that quickly bleeds the fight out of them.
Struggling as a muzzle is wrestled over their head and secured.
A blow to the head that knocks Whumpee out or makes them too dizzy to fight anyone off.
Top-Tier Villain Motivations
They will be safe. It doesn't matter who else or what else burns as long as They will be safe.
I will be safe. The hunger and the cold will never touch me again.
Fuck any bitch who's prettier(/cooler/better-liked/better at making dumplings) than me.
Yes, Master
Love me. Love me. Love me. Love me. LOVE ME!
I know the terrible things these so-called "heroes" will do if I don't stop them (<- is absolutely wrong)
I don't want a better future, I want a better past!

Very important, cannot believe I forgot:
No other way to get academic research funded these days.
so sick and tired of people hating on lady whump. give me your lady whumpees slouching against a brick wall, drugged and dazed as they try to make their way home. give me girls covered in blood â whether it be their own or someone elseâs. give me lady whumpees who thrash and scream and fight against their restraints. who spit poison at their captors. who cry and beg and plead and kick. iâm so goddamn tired of women in whump either always 1. being the whumper, or 2. being forced into these soft, docile stereotypes that prevent them from expressing anything but. give me more lady whumpees or give me death.
"You hear that? The sound coming from back there? That's your friend diligently learning how to behave."
half-conscious multilingual whumpee asking caretaker for something. but they're asking in the wrong language; caretaker doesn't speak it. in their hazy state, whumpee can't remember the words in the other language, meanwhile caretaker feels bad for not knowing what they want
Handcuffed characters using their handcuffs to strangle their captors and thereby turning their restraints into weapons, flipping symbolic defeat into real danger, making their captors the one in chains....very fun
When Team Leader is so personable and empathetic and wears their heart on their sleeve that Whumper doesnât understand how they and their team can remotely be a threat â at least not until Whumper actually hurts the Team Leader and calls down the wrath of the stone cold ride-or-die Second In Command
Leader and a Teammate get captured together right after an argument. Theyâre tied together, back to back, as Whumper walks in.
Leader has information that Whumper wants, information that Leader refused to tell Teammate. After hours of torture not working on Leader, they turn to Teammate.
How long until Leader gives up the information? Will they give it up immediately to help Teammate? Or will they watch stoically, knowing that the information they have is more important than Teammate?
Will Teammate think that Leader doesnât care about them anymore after the argument? Will they understand what Leaderâs trying to do? Or, since they donât know the information, will they loathe Leader for making them go through the torture?
A leader who is cold and aloof.
He doesnât join the team when they attempt to bond, sticking to only training them and giving orders. He wonât even eat with them at the same table, let alone initiate conversation outside what is necessary. The team donât push, out of respect and borderline fear for him. They believe that heâd sacrfice any of them without a second thought if he had to. They trust him to lead them, but they donât trust that heâd keep them safe.
The leader is scary. He doesnât raise his voice, doesnât even look angry when heâs reprimanding any of them. His voice is a monotone to a point where they wouldnât be surprised if he was actually a humanoid android. Until one day, the youngest screws up badly, almost costing the entire team their lives. Fortunately, the leader manages to save them, getting them all back to safety.
When he is sure that they are secure, he explodes at the youngest. His fingers bunch into fists, drawing blood from his own palms as his fingernails scrape at the skin. They wonder if he was about to punch the youngest across the face. The Leaderâs words are harsh but true, making his junior look at the ground shamefully. One of the other teammates decides that everyone has had enough for today, physically pulling Leader away.
The teammate feels something wet drop onto his hand. Thatâs when they realize none of them had actually been looking at Leaderâs face. His face didnât read anger, as much as it read fear. His eyes were wet with tears that had yet to fall.
Leader realizes that heâs crying, quickly pulling away from his team to retreat to his room after telling the second in command to make sure everyone is patched up.
In his room, he canât help but glance at the frame on his bedside. A younger version of himself stands in the centre of a group of five, all of them with their arms around each other, proud of the new stripe the youngest wears on his shoulder. The same youngest that got them all killed.
The youngest member who was now a leader himself, so close to losing his team again.
Leader hadnât been angry at the youngest, who had tried their best. He had looked down at them, and seen himself. Naive, immature and guilty of killing the people who had loved him.
He cares about his team. Of course he does. But he doesnât think heâd be strong enough if he were to lose people he loved again.Â
Underrated Hostage Tropes
1) The âYouâll doâ hostage Whumper has come to target one of Caretakerâs loved ones, but finds Whumpee instead. âNot who I was looking for, but youâll do.â
2) The âgrabbed in the heat of battleâ hostage When Whumper grabs Whumpee and holds them at weapon-point, a furious battle slams to a halt.
3) The unaware hostage Whumpee trying desperately to act normal and not give the game away, knowing that Whumper can hurt an unsuspecting Caretaker any time they choose.
4) The âmaybe I donât hate youâ hostage Whumpee and Caretaker have been at each otherâs throats from the second they met, only for Caretaker to be unexpectedly panicked when Whumpee is threatened.
5) The self-sacrificial hostage Whumpee holds themself hostage, knowing they have information that Whumper canât afford to lose.Â
