I think if people only liked “Swing Life Away,” then they figured out by now that that isn’t what we sound like by either buying our last record or coming to a live show. If they bought the new record looking for another “Swing,” tough luck. You won’t get me to apologize for that song though, I love it. I’m proud of it and stoked about how many people were exposed to what we do through that song. I don’t give a fuck whether something is screamed or whispered, I care about the content behind it all.

Barrier was everything. My body hurts like hell but it was 100% worth it. I met Tim afterwards and I told him about Tragedy + Time and he said, “Writing songs is therapy for me and it’s great to know that it’s therapy for you to hear them. That makes me feel good.” He actually seemed surprised when I told him my hospital story from a few months back. Surprised he had helped so much. And when I asked if a hug was okay or if he didn’t feel comfy with that he got all enthusiastic and said my name and gave me this giant hug. Everything about yesterday means so much to me. This band means so much to me. I could never ask for more.
