I don’t get how in fantasy fiction, the women who actually enjoy sewing/embroidering are always painted as the weak, boring, and anti-feminist characters 

Sewing and embroidery take skill, patience, and artistic talent and it was also the ultimate way to ignore the annoying men in your life in past centuries 

If you didn’t feel like talking to a man, you just “took up your sewing” and he’d have to leave you alone, especially if he needed that shirt mended

Women also got together all the time to sew, weave, embroider but also talk, gossip, assist each other’s work, and enjoy each other’s company in peace 

The skill the female character has doesn’t have to be sword-fighting for her to be strong, because there’s strength and power in any skill she has

How come it’s always after people in the entertainment industry become hyper sexualized versions of themselves or start changing their gender identities (like Demi Lovato or Elliott Page) people say they are “finding their true selves”? What if they’re actually losing themselves? What if spending years in one the most toxic, perverted and destructive industries in the country isn’t actually helping them become happy, healthy people who are discovering their true identities.

Maybe it’s actually destroying them and breaking them down.

Maybe instead of celebrating when people make these drastic changes, we should see it as a symptom of the problem.

Maybe these people are lost and broken and are turning to self destructive and unhealthy behavior to cope with the rampant corruption in the world of entertainment.

It must suck to be young these days. You're told the world is going to end because of the weather, you're told you're a good or a bad person based on your skin color and gender, your entire lives--sometimes from birth--are put online for strangers to judge, you're told that recovering from mental illness is "abelist" and wrong, you're told that your attractiveness and self-worth is based on how many people want to have sex with you, you're shown that everything you say will be catalogued and remembered and used against you at any time, you're told that a mistake can never be atoned for yet you need to constantly apologize and try to atone, adults who are supposed to guide you are using the trust you have for them to abuse and indoctrinate you, you're constantly scared of things that you'll most likely never experience because there's no way to escape the relentless and all-encompassing news cycle, you're told that every election is the last stand against True Evil so you're anxious messes every two years, you have no privacy, you have no attention span, trauma is glorified and being healthy and well off is vilified.

It's no wonder so many kids hate themselves and think things like euthanasia and abortion are a mercy. Almost every aspect of modern society is waging war against children, and most adults are too complacent, blind, or complicit to fight back for their kids. And the ones who aren't are painted as terrorists or extremists by the institutions that are perpetuating the war.

But, kids, there are adults out there fighting for you. You won't see them on the news and there won't be any movies about them. But we are out there. And we're doing what we can, in our own way, to make sure the world you inherit isn't the insane mess you were born into. My greatest wish is that you all wake up and learn to see through the insanity. To learn to question what you're told and learn the truth for yourselves. Because eventually you'll be the ones taking up the fight, but if you don't even realize you're in a war, the same people who prey on your fears and insecurities now will own you for the rest of your lives. And as scary as that sounds, it's actually not. Because they don't have any power over you other than the power you give them. Take their power away and they have nothing left but hot air and tears.
