rambling about the episode knight in disgrace

people talked about this recently but it really rubs me the wrong way that KITT, something that was designed to be sentient and have his own feelings, is property

two deleted scenes that come to mind with KITT not opening the door are the ones where Devon says he'll kill KITT if Michael can't find him, and another where KITT fears being reprogrammed if he expresses emotions he wasn't programmed to feel. i can only imagine that he's considering the consequences of disobeying FLAG and showing that he's more than just "property"

despite his fears, he decides to escape FLAG with Michael simply because he loves him and can't imagine anyone else being his partner. the idea of anyone replacing Michael repulses him! he'd rather risk it all with Michael than stay back at FLAG

and KITT's love and loyalty is returned with Michael engaging in very suspicious behavior that makes KITT uncomfortable

KITT felt angry and violated when someone he didn't know overrided him, can you imagine what he must've felt when MICHAEL, the person he loved and just sacrificed everything for, did the same to him?

KITT then falls into complete silence. his silent treatment in this show is usually done for humor, but this time he's in shock from the hurt and betrayal he's feeling

even though he's hurt, he still assists Michael and lets him drive him. despite all the emotional pain Michael just caused him, he still loves him

and then michael explains everything and they patch things up, but man KITT went through an emotional rollercoaster in this episode and i really wanted to talk about it :(

OH MY GOD I DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT KITT BEING SCARED OF REPROGRAMMING + MICHAEL MANUALLY OVERRIDING HIM AND HIM BEING UPSET ABOUT IT???? OMG
