Caroline eyed the other when they said they were lost. Quickly she told whoever it was on the other line she had to go and hung up the phone. "I can help it's no problem." She said with a smile, shoving her phone in her pants pocket. "Where are you trying to get to?" She asked, stepping a bit closer, in case he had a map with a destination in mind.
“Rough month” Jamie countered with a sigh, continuing to blot at the blood seeping from his nose. He was grateful for the offering of the tissues, not that his shirt was one of his best or anything, but he didn’t know the first thing about getting blood out of it. “Thanks” he murmured softly, gathering a wad to hold against his face, “guess wrong place, wrong time springs to mind.”
“Sounds like it...”She supposed she could try to be optimistic but she didn’t know this man, things could really be worse. “C’mon, let me walk you home and try to patch you up... No one should have to deal with their injuries alone... Is your nose broken?” She couldn’t be sure by just looking at him, so she’d have to take his word for it.

Never underestimate a mother's love. Caroline would follow her children to the moon and back if that was what it took. A small frown tugged on her lips when she saw Hope, but it was quickly shrugged off. "Hello, Hope. I hear my children are here. Have you seen them?" Good or bad, she wasn't sure if it were a good thing or not for Hope to have seen them.
Caroline couldn't believe her eyes, but she had to admit it was nice to see a familiar face. A somewhat unsure smile appeared on her face as she took her own steps forward to greet the other. "I would have been here sooner if anyone thought to tell me." She said with a soft sigh, shaking her head. She was far out of the loop and didn't like it. "You....were," She managed, focusing back in on the matter at hand. "-- Welcome back." Without stopping to think too far into things she stepped forward to give him a hug.

The other person was quickly forgotten when she heard a familiar voice. She nearly dropped her phone in excitement, sliding it into her pocket and closing the distance between them as quickly as possible while still looking semi normal. "Josie!" She spoke when she got to her, pulling her into a hug. "I missed you so much, you and your sister." She'd end up asking about Lizzie at some point but right now she was focused on Josie. "How are you? You look so grown up now, gosh!"

Her attention was focused on the phone call she was having, she could hear someone approaching from behind, holding up a finger she cleared her throat. "Listen, let me know if anything changes." She said before she hung up the phone and turning on her heel to face the person. "Sorry, school business... Can I help you?" Was it possible she dropped something? Yes, very possible, she supposed but it could be a myriad of reasons for them to approach.
It had taken some time to manage to get back into her old facebook account but she had somehow managed as she sat alone in the park, saddened look against soft features as she sat cross legged on the park bench scrolling through old photos of her and her family before a figure approached and she stole a glance upwards, eventually readjusting and scooting herself the other to give some space. “Sorry, yeah, wasn’t meaning to hog the bench,” Aspen muses, hitting the power button to shut the screen of her phone off.
Caroline had been minding her own business when she saw Aspen sitting on the bench, walking over she gave her a smile. "No, no, you're fine. Are you okay?"She asked after a moment. "You just...."She motioned around them, as if that meant anything. "You just looked sad." She said finally, a frown tugging on her lips. Being a mother really put things in perspective, maybe it even made her kinder in certain ways.
it’s a sound that she is all too familiar with: the quiet echoing of hesitant footsteps. they flash a reminder of her brother. always dancing upon eggshells if only to keep her mood in line with whatever favor or disappointment he intended to drop upon her shoulders. this is the closest she will reach to hearing such again. someone lurking behind the shadows. uncertain of their next move. if she had thought to pay more attention, she might have smelled their fear. polluting the air. making them an easy target. but … she simply offers a laugh. “ oh dear. i thought you knew better than to sneak up on a lady— have you no manners? ”
It was very rare for Caroline to hesitate, but from what she'd heard this certainly wasn't good company and yet, she continued to step forward, knowing that she would be no match should the other vampire attack her. Caroline's head tilted to the side ever so slightly when she laughed, this certainly wasn't the welcome she'd been expecting. "I have manners." She responded, crossing her arms over her chest. "Why are you here though? No one is ever here."
Jamie had been spiralling, which wasn’t entirely out of character for him. Usually when this happened he would turn to self medicating, which he often took too far. He had allowed himself to have one bottle too many and subsequently started a fight, which then seemed to turn into a brawl.
His features were slightly worn and there was blood dripping from his nose, which he had taken to wiping on the sleeve of his shirt as he forced his way through the crowd and out into the fresh air of the front of the bar.
He could hear footsteps approaching on the gravel and just before he could look up, did the sound of a stool smashing through one of the back windows occur, causing for him to quip “yeah, I wouldn’t go in there…”
The city had changed so much and yet it seemed to have stayed the same at the same time. Caroline found herself walking down the street by herself, doing nothing much but enjoying the evening air when she caught the sound of things breaking, which lured her closer, against better judgement.
Caroline raised an eyebrow when he spoke. "Clearly... Rough night?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest, trying to ignore the smell of blood coming from Jamie. Pulling a pack of tissues out of her purse she opened the pack and offered them over.
