if you unironically refer to Macaque as “mother”, “queen” or “wife” i’m sorry but i cannot take you seriously and i will side-eye you.
Edit: Obviously there’s more to it than just “using feminine nouns for male characters is annoying”. A lot of ppl in the lmk fandom have this weird fixation with changing and feminizing everything about Macaque so he fits into a specific role (sometimes it's done to Wukong too, but it certainly doesn't happen as often).
I don’t think i should have to explain why doing this to a male character in the context of a gay/mlm relationship comes off as weird. Not only that but you also have to take into consideration that, in most of these cases, Macaque is portrayed as a trans man. And yet he’s still referred to as a queen or a wife when it's totally unnecessary, always made to be the one who gets pregnant, the one who cooks and cleans, the “responsible parent" that takes care of the children, the “motherly figure,” and also because why the fuck not being constantly objectified and sexually harassed by other male characters.
What's funny about it is that ppl often do this under the pretense of “defying gender roles,” when in reality they’re just recycling the same tired stereotypes about gay men and trans men.
I genuinely wonder if these people even like Macaque as a character, because otherwise i don’t understand the need to change not only his design to make him look more feminine and “sexy”, but also completely change his personality so he can fit into this “femme fatale,” “mistreated housewife,” or whatever stereotypical female role they think suits him.
Like brooooooo Macaque’s character gets so distorted that it doesn't feel like Macaque at all anymore, just an OC with his name slapped onto it.
