#im sorry. the Blogging for Dummies book is RECENT???

At first I thought it was from 2010 because that’s when “Blogging for Dummies, 3rd Edition” was published, but then I noticed this smartphone ad:

Which looks really out-of-place for that period of time, so I realized I must have been looking at the wrong edition.

Then I looked at those trending tags up at the top of the screen. Computer, enhance image.

I didn’t watch house of the dragon but I knew it was a more recent show, so I could have used that to narrow it down. More useful however was the dual venice film festival tags, and the fact that one of them had “don’t worry darling” (which I surmised to be the name of a film) underneath it, so now I just had to find out when that film was shown at the venice film festival. Sure enough, it premiered on September 5th, 2022.

My next step was going to the post archive page for @important-animal-images, filtering the posts by “Photo” and tagged as “#cats,” and then flipping through to September 2022. Sure enough, the post was there!

And as one final mystery to solve, I looked up blogging for dummies by Amy Lupold Bair and found out that “Blogging All-In-One for Dummies, 3rd Edition” was published in April of 2023 and has this cover:

Which matches perfectly with the cover of the book that @dakotaqueen had in her original post!

A Jily Gift Exchange 2025 fic for @annasghosts

They’re barely eleven years old when they first meet. What eleven-year-olds don’t squabble? Pulled pigtails, silly hexes that fizzle harmlessly, shouting matches heard all across the Great Hall. And the next day, sharing a desk in class or a cauldron in Potions, talking and laughing at the same things they had fought over yesterday.

Lily thinks nothing of it at first — it’s just there, and he’s just a boy — but over the years, as she grows up and learns of life, there are some moments where it shines brighter. A heavenly provision, one might say; a little ray of light to brighten the cold, damp February mornings.

you know those advent calendar PR packages and gift boxes? what if i did that but for fics? I've been behind on reading jily fics this year, would be fun if i created a mini-fest type thing with one fic a day like an advent calendar, and scheduled all these different fics in advance for the entirety of december!

i'm making this official! Behold, the Jily Advent Calendar 2025, to be held on this blog.

What we will be doing: Reading jily oneshots every day, based on the theme of the week.

Themes are:

Dec 1 - 7: Canon compliant fics

Dec 8 - 14: Canon divergent fics

Dec 15 - 21: Muggle AUs

Dec 22 - 31: Holiday themed fics

You can also submit your own fic (to @ncoincidences)! The only criteria is that it be centred around the ship Jily, follow the theme of the week, and be under 30k.

On Sundays, having read the week's fics, there will be a bonus jigsaw puzzle made out of a fanart that matches the week's theme. You can also submit your art if you want to! (I'll be using puzzel.org for this which doesn't use AI in creating the puzzle.)

In the spirit of the fest, we'll try to leave as many comments as possible to share the love ❤️
