Woe, design updates be upon ye! Again!

Ik I haven’t shown a ton of stuff for this project in the grand scheme, but A LOT of story and character development has been happening behind the scenes! I made a little post about these two the last time I redesigned them, but this time I’ll give them a proper introduction. Lore dump under the cut~

This is Lir and her brother Kells! In this world the dragons are called seadrae, of which there are two types. Lir and Kells belong to the group known as the Nocauda, identified by their large swimming tails that gradate lighter or darker depending on their sex. AMABs have lighter horns and tails, AFABs have darker horns and tails.

Kells boasts a playful, charismatic demeanor. He is very musically inclined and is an expert at boosting morale. He unfortunately has the bad habit of taking care of others' needs to distract himself from his own. Lir has been Kell's biggest support for most of their lives. She is brave, hard working, and inspiring. It took years of self improvement to get there. Even now, she still struggles with her inclination to please everyone and keep her problems to herself.

Apostates since their late teens, Lir and Kells both have a bone to pick with the gods of their pantheon. The faith the world lives by is not what it seems. What was once a profound connection between divine and mortal has been tainted, and now people suffer. But few people see it that way. Those who share this opinion are ostracized at best.

Lir and Kells are the captain and first mate of a ship called The Rip Current. With their crew, they find people outcast from their faith in one way or another and bring them to a safe haven. An island hidden even from the pantheon’s watch. For ten years they’ve called this island their new home. Losing their old lives took a toll on both of them. But the family and community they gained since then has changed them for the better. They’ve done a lot for their cause, but they can’t keep it up forever. Something has to change. There’s a storm on the horizon.
