I didn’t realize there were so many people getting destroyed by mattresses 😂
Glad it’s not just me
The first time I saw this video I didn't reblog or save it anywhere and it's been genuinely impossible to find again. I searched every variation of "dyke falling apart car bentley review asmr meme" I could come up with on Google and across multiple websites/apps.
So, thanks for putting this back on my dash.
Around 85% of the time someone is like “My family is the most important thing in the world to me, I’m a really family-oriented person. I love my family.” the family consists of the most disgusting, vile, bigoted, evil fucking people you’ve ever seen and the dynamic between them all is so dysfunctional and toxic it is straight out of a southern gothic novel. I think it’s partially because people who genuinely have close and loving relationships with their family don’t feel the need to announce it over and over again, they can just go chill with their cousins without professing their love for them in their Instagram bio. My hackles are always raised when someone is a self-professed ‘family-oriented person’, could be in that 15% minority of wholesome close families but ehhhhhhhhh.
every person you meet will have one bit that only they find funny. it is important that you hate that bit as much as possible in order to enrich their experience of doing the bit. it is part of the enjoyment of the bit
And also
history fucked me up
oxford was built and operational as a college before the rise of the mayans and cleopatra lived in a time nearer to pizza hut’s invention than to the pyramids being built
I need a noncomprehensive history book that covers Known World History in time periods, like “in this century, all this shit was happening concurrently” and not just all spread out so I have to piece it together like some unpaid uneducated scholar
You mean like this?
The Timetables of History by Bernard Grun
I grew up with this book, which is frickin’ enormous, and it was endlessly fascinating to young me to pour over the side by side comparison of events taking place concurrently under different headings and in different parts of the world.
Or if you want something you can put on your wall, there’s this:
World History Timeline
I had this book! My grandpa gave it to me and it was really freakin useful!!
I loved this book! Same for The Timetables of Science: A Chronology of the Most Important People and Events in the History of Science.
Same for The Timetables of Technology: A Chronology of the Most Important People and Events in the History of Technology. Great references!
okay but here’s an even cooler (free!) visualization that goes a step further and tracks ideas, devices, infrastructures, and systems of power
Calculating Empires: A Genealogy of Technology and Power Since 1500
✨️with a special focus on colonialism, militarization, automation, and enclosure✨️
You can spend hours upon hours exploring this
If you’re a more visual learner, you might enjoy this
It has gorseous, detailed spreads and a very charming art style
Ok, imagine you're comic accurate Clark Kent and you're a working-class immigrant raised on a farm. You grow up and dedicate your life to helping people while being a total malewife to your Pulitzer prize winner girlfriend. You're despised and targeted by an unethical, megalomaniacal billionaire who thinks his intellect and his power and his wealth entitles him to your inherent abilities and the adoration you've earned through years of nonstop altruism. YOU WERE CREATED BY TWO JEWISH MEN IN THE 1930S
And then people complain about a movie about you being too woke

There's more:
never forget when saruman literally told gandalf "you've been smoking too much weed bro"
"You're smoking too much weed," says the guy who got addicted to manosphere podcasts on his orb and started a fascist militia with a side hobby of deliberate environmental destruction. Started cutting down trees to own the woke elves.
