New meaning to “Just Friends” in light of new episodes...

It was no secret the way that we feel 

a love so pure, a love so real

you showed me your world and it felt like a sign

but you acted too slow and you ran out of time

and now we’ll be just friends

we will be just friends

I didn’t mean to hurt you 

you didn’t have a clue

but you got busy 

and found somebody new

I used to think this was about Marco dating Jackie, which mostly made sense at the time, but there were some holes. For instance, Marco never had a romantic relationship so he never found somebody new. Star was in touch with her feelings in the beginning of season 2. 

Whereas Marco was totally clueless about his and Star’s feelings and as a result hurt Star’s feelings very badly.

While the song can be applicable to both of them it is more fitting this way. My initial interpretation was a bit skewed, yet it is clear now that the song was foreshadowing for new events, Tomstar, of season 3. Where it’ll go from now we will have to find out.

5. Who changed the scroll?

6. Why didn’t Moon know about the hall of records?

All of this has been brewing in my mind since watching the last few episodes, any ideas?

One of my favorite things about Over the Garden Wall

I love how every time I watch it I feel like it’s totally new because I notice something new every time. 

Whether thats the amount of black turtles throughout or noticing each song from the soundtrack when it’s played, the show is so wonderful because of the many layers within it.
