Overwatch Character Concept Art ½
My Overwatch’s comic is available online now in several languages and it’s free ! Such a great experience to work with Blizzard. 2 years I wouldn’t have thought working for such a big company. Big thanks to Logan Lubera who gave me this opportunity.

My First & Probably Last Post
Sorry for all those who follow me. I have to move accounts because the email I used for this thing don't work and I can't recover it. So I can't change my password to log in to my account. I'm only able to only use this account on my phone. Which probably won't last. So, if you want to continue following or not my url is now crystalizee11. Um, so have fun and farewell.
god i HATE the way crime shows aggressively push the idea that only guilty people (or occasionally innocent but morally repugnant people) want lawyers when talking to the police.
it’s one of the most harmful lies on tv honestly because it encourages real people to waive their right to counsel making it vastly easier for cops to take advantage of them, lie to them, railroad them etc. regardless of your guilt or innocence, if you’re suspected of a crime, you need a lawyer.
Half of me wants to laugh/cry because this is the state that the CW is in and how much their brand is in need of rehabilitation.
Supergirl is not a show that does grim dark or kills its characters for ratings. Villains rarely die on this show. If they do, there is usually a casting reason behind it (Laura) and the fallout is treated with care.
The show runners are very cognizant of the fact that little kids, little girls especially, are watching this show, and they definitely want this to be a family show. The cast and crew, across the board, are very vocal about this. To the point that Melissa didn’t even want to talk too much about the technical stuff about flying at Paleyfest because there were kids in the audience and she wanted to preserve the magic a bit.
And yet, as soon the show jumps on the CW, suddenly we’re worried that people are going to die. That women are going to die. That James and J’onn are going to die.
Why?
The creative team hasn’t changed.
The core cast seems to be on board, despite some reservations about Calista’s contract.
With the exception of a slashed budget and a filming location change, there is nothing that the cast, crew, or writers have said in interviews to indicate a darker turn. All we know about Season 2 is:
Possible Lynda Carter as President? (Well, that might be scrapped depending on the budget.)
Possible Superboy or Cyborg with Cadmus? Kreisberg: “You know, Cadmus has such a rich history in the comics and the animated shows. There’s so much there to mine. It’ll definitely be part of Season 2.“
Adler: “Season two is going to be more reflective of their past and how they’re going to change their future as a result of it in a really emotional way.”
Literally all that TV’s sunniest, most hopeful show that is not a sitcom had to do to cause mass panic and fear is say it’s moving to the CW.
THAT is how bad the CW’s rep is in the shitter right now.
That’s how far the network’s reputation has fallen. That’s how badly they’ve traumatized multiple fandoms. That’s how little people think about the CW’s collective sense of responsibility is to protect the young and vulnerable audience members it targets. (And for good cause.)
Just the fact that it’s moving to the CW sparks a panic.
The CW has a branding problem. Because I don’t necessarily think it’s going to be as bad as people think it is going to be, but the network’s track record is so bad and fear is so potent, I don’t blame everyone for thinking this sunny and wonderful show is going to get ruined.
Calista Flockhart Project
Hello All!
As you’ve probably heard by now, Supergirl will be moving to the CW for season 2. It has been confirmed by sources that Calista Flockhart will continue on with the show through the move to Vancouver. Now none of us expected this, we expected a move to the CW would mean losing Cat Grant and Calista as part of the cast. But we have been pleasantly proved wrong.
Now before this renewal and moving nonsense started we had discussed doing a letter project for Calista. A scrapbook or binder (based on how many people are interested) of letters or messages written by fans for Calista. These letters would be to tell Calista how much she has inspired, empowered and affected our lives in a positive way. We’ve seen that Calista is the type of person who appreciates discussion of her character (especially because she’s basically admitted she loves Cat Grant), as opposed to just being told that we love her. Our goal is to show her how important she and Cat Grant are to us! :) And we want her to know how happy we are that she chose to stick around even though the show is now filming in Vancouver (which is huge considering she signed on partly cause it filmed in LA).
The letters, if you wish to participate, can be no longer than one printer page. You can simply submit the letters through our tumblr ask or, our email: [email protected]. Each letter will get one page in the scrapbook or binder and we’d like to include a little bubble on the page also including your First Name (or initials/a pseudonym if you’re more comfortable that way) Age and general location (ie. State, Country, something along those lines) to show Calista just how diverse her fanbase is. If you choose to send in a letter we ask you do so by July 17th, as we will be putting the binder together the next weekend. The letters will also be moderated to assure there are no crude or inappropriate comments. We will use complete discretion but there is definitely no judgement and anything you write will not be published anywhere online. It’s just for Calista!
Thank you and please reblog to spread the news!
If you have any questions feel free to message us. :)

Trans mother and two small children facing homelessness on the street--HELP! [Portland]
Hello, I am a trans woman and mother of two young girls age 2 and 5. I am in the process of separating from my abusive husband and while we are currently crashing with friends, we are not able to stay here for long due to space constraints.
I enjoy cooking, cleaning, reading, and technology. I am personally involved with trans advocacy efforts and am a regular operator with the Trans Lifeline. I have a corporate job interview tomorrow which I am certain will go well, and so I will be able to help with rent, food, and utilities. You will not be asked to watch my children as I have made arrangements for their care while working.
I do not drink or use drugs at all, period; the three of us are also vegetarian. I am 420 friendly and a very proactive person who stays busy during the day-time and we all go to sleep rather early. We have lived in small quarters before and are currently all crashing in a full size bed. I am planning to save up to get my own place within 1-2 months but am open to working something out long term; I am mostly ace and am a very loving and considerate person who avoids conflict, doesn’t judge, and is an understanding listener. My girls are well behaved and enjoy playing with their few toys, coloring, and doing school work. We are a sweet family and are hoping the perfect opportunity comes along; I look forward to hearing from you soon! <3

I asked one of my (male) friends to stop using the phrase “man up” and he has been using “fortify” for the past two weeks instead and it’s just a little thing but honestly it makes a difference
and tbh it’s also pretty funny when I start to deflate in the library and he leans over and goes “FORTIFY”
Dude, fortify is bangin’. That makes things like you’re some kind of RPG character. Fortify is way better than “man up.”
i love everything about this

I’ve written before about how theatre can teach trust, empathy, compassion, peaceful conflict resolution, deeper cognitive thinking, delayed gratification, create community and understanding. The men in Rehabilitation Through the Arts have far fewer disciplinary infractions inside the facility and a dramatically lower recidivism rate upon release than the general population. I often wish I could take the guys to the theatre. You may be able to imagine that a fair number of these men had no access to the arts as children. (That’s a separate post.) We make do with production photos and the occasional “adapted for television.” Until the cast of Hamilton beautifully and powerfully performed their opening number from the stage of the Richard Rodgers Theatre for the Grammy ceremony, and then performed at the White House. Until Lin-Manuel Miranda free-styled in the Rose Garden with President Obama. Which I promptly burned onto a DVD and waited for clearance to bring into the facility. Tonight we watched Lin-Manuel perform a piece from his ‘concept album’ at the 2009 White House Poetry Jam, and we talked about how that audience received his work. We talked about what happens when people laugh and you’re serious, about the decision to stand one’s ground and follow one’s purpose, which is a hot topic in our rehearsal room as we get closer to sharing our months of work with the population of the prison. “He gets more confident as he goes.” Some of the men are worried that the population won’t understand Shakespeare; some are worried that they will laugh at the serious parts. Tonight, one of the elders in our circle says, “We have to tell the story.” We watch a Broadway show in the Big House. Well, four minutes of it. We watch the Grammy performance of “Alexander Hamilton.” Heads nod to the beat; some of the men snap along. “Can we watch it again?” We can. We talk about how Hamilton is performed on a bare stage, just like we’ll perform Twelfth Night. “No one laughed when he said his name this time.” We talk about how Miranda uses language, leverages rhetoric to find each character’s voice, just as Shakespeare did. We talk about working for six years on something you believe in, and we speculated about the long, uncertain nights somewhere in the middle of year three, year four. The men know more than the rest of us can imagine about long, uncertain nights in the middle of a very long bid to survive. I attempt to describe the beautiful specificity of the physical and vocal choices that Daveed Diggs, Okieriete Onaodowan, and Anthony Ramos make to differentiate Lafayette from Jefferson, Mulligan from Madison, Laurens from Philip Hamilton; we’ve been working on character walks. We watch the cast perform “My Shot” at the White House; we woop. We joyfully behold the son of Puerto Rican parents and the first African American President freestyle in the Rose Garden. We cheer. (One or two of us might tear up, but we don’t need to discuss that.) These gorgeous, thoughtful, wounded men rarely see themselves represented in the world. As they fight to become the men they want to be, they still mostly see themselves in the narrative as junkies, dealers, thugs or the latest Black man brutally gunned down in the streets by the police. According to an Opportunity Agenda study, “negative mass media portrayals were strongly linked with lower life expectations among black men.” (Who lives? Who dies? Who tells your story?) But tonight, in the midst of our shared creative endeavor, they saw themselves smack in the center of the narrative of creation, possibility, pursuit, and achievement. Representation unabashedly made me weep tonight as I watched a few of the men lean in. Representation matters. Representation is beautiful. And I am not willing to wait for it.
