Every time I see a picture of super shiny, polished armor I want to kick a Victorian.
They deserve it!!!
the more history you learn, doesnt matter what history, the more you hate the victorians
This disclaimer should be read, signed, and archived for anyone interested in history.
Wait but WHY
Because the Victorians had a nasty habit of viewing all history through the lens of a world-view that justified their imperialist patriarchal and white suprematist society. As a result, they reinterpreted, ignored and outright erased anything that contradicted that world view.
On an ethical level, that.
On a personal level - they polished medieval armor to a mirror finish thinking that was what it was supposed to look like, when most armor was finished with bluing, blacking, enamel, or paint to be outlandish and gaudy and gorgeous, and most importantly - resist rusting.
They did the same thing to ancient statues, assuming that they were meant to be bare white marble (as their paint had since flaked and worn away), when in fact they looked like stunningly gorgeous pop art of the ancient world.
So victorians whitewashed history…by literally whitewashing history…
they also ate all the mummies
victorians- hey, heres a thought, what if we gave women MORE strict gender roles and restrict their rights to own property, and make those retroactive through the last several hundred years of historical records everyone- sounds bad victorians- and more sexually repressed and shamed for expressing desire despite medieval and ancient women being very openly horny everyone- dear god why do you want the women to be less horny victorians- not just the women, the men should be repressed to, but only in a way that makes them angry and lash out everyone- you just keep making society worse dont you victorians- wait till you hear about our foreign policy
had a dream last night that my alarm was connected to twitter and everytime i hit snooze it publicly tweeted it with a disparaging little message along the lines of “filthy horrible boy has slapped the screen again, and slumbers on” so that your followers could shame you and i was deeply, DEEPLY humiliated but that did not stop me from hitting snooze upwards of 14 times
hey op! i couldnt sleep until i built this! you motherfucker!
just gotta “borrow” my sister’s alarm clock
get that twitter api, write the bot in some python bc god is dead n slap together some fuckin UI with legos
your idiot self wants to sleep in???? hit that snooze button a couple times???? (maybe 4 times in a row)?? disgusting.
twitter knows! bc it posts how many times youve hit it. fuck you
the next step is NOT profit. noone profits. everybody loses. go home.

Federal troops were called against 13,000 miners.Three battles that led to the biggest armed insurrection since the Civil War.
Ask yourself why you were never taught this in school.
Although there were planes used against the miners in the Battle of Blair Mountain, it is not true that this was the first time planes were used to drop bombs on American soil against Americans.
The Battle of Blair Mountain took place in August and September of 1921. Just a few months prior to that, on May 31 and June 1, planes were also used to help destroy the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a prosperous black neighborhood nicknamed The Black Wall Street. At least 39 people died during the event, which is known as the Tulsa Race Massacre. Hundreds were wounded, and 6,000 black people lost their homes.
Both of these events were hugely important moments in American history.
Ask yourself why neither was taught to you in school. Also ask your local school board.
Give this Man Oscar!!!
the funniest thing is that they really weren't the impostor

A friend of mine from around here who is Very Christian and has never had a Jewish friend before was asking me some stuff about antisemitism today, and it made me realize that the ways people talk about various types of bigotry and racism are so designed to stump people about the nature and purpose of systems of oppression. "Why do people hate the jews so much?" is such a common refrain and while there have been many books and articles written pulling apart all the important contextual and historical things that can help people understand antisemitism SPECIFICALLY, what I ended up saying to my friend was this:
"Something to understand about antisemitism is it isnt just ideological. The expulsion of jews from various countries was very often a method of "legally" seizing their wealth when the church needed money. It has been historically an incredibly convenient source of both a group of people to blame and also an easy way to just... Be able to steal from people, lmao. It has served very concrete material purposes for churches and governments throughout history. Sometimes you have to approach asking those questions from a different angle because it often isnt about the hatred so much as it is about ... Redirecting energy and attention, right, like upholding structures that benefit those in power. The hatred is convenient because it allows those in power to take actions that would not be tolerated if the group in question were not considered to be Exceptional in their inhumanity. Like the undocumented immigrants now, asking "why do they hate the immigrants so much" isnt always a productive avenue of thought because the hatred is usually just... Useful. Rather it is more helpful to ask "Who does it benefit for these people to be treated this way" -> "what do they need to make the general public believe about that group of people in order to justify this treatment". I think sometimes we are made to think hatred of jews is special and rooted in something different than other hatred... It's not. I mean all types of racism etc are unique. But it very much is about justifying actions that benefit a ruling class in all instances, imo."
And she like totally got it!!! She was like "OH I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT LIKE THAT BUT THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE THANK YOU" I am very proud of myself lol :')
"Who does it benefit for these people to be treated this way"
If for no other reason, vote for Biden out of spite.
Voting isn’t useless, but even if you think it is? Imagine the tantrum happening in the White House as Fuckface von Clownstick, reality TV show schmuck, watches the numbers ticking along as the country grinds it into his face not only how unpopular he is, but how popular his opponent is in comparison.
Vote. Vote out of spite.
that’s what they do with it
