Demons
I exist. The god people want. But what about the other side? The supernatural people don’t want to see. Things that lurk in the shadows.
Demons.
Devils.
Call them what you want, they’ve always been there. Watching, waiting, biding their time for the right moment to stick their fingers in your life and nudge you down the wrong path. Nowadays they mostly appear as glitches in the technology. Mysterious bugs and hiccups in the fibres of our new high-tech life.
It’s so easy for them to stay hidden. People are so content to not understand the world around them, they are happy to let technology morph into so much dark magic, beyond the comprehension of any mortal man.
But a man who peeks behind the curtain, who knows how things work, how they should work, is more attuned to the dark influences. He knows when he gets more than his fair share of connection drops, cracked screens, slow internet. And on the other hand he notices that sometimes, when he’s doing something important, the universe gets out of his way.
I tell you now, ignoring how the world works is the road to darkness and spiritual backsliding. Ignorance serves the malevolent manipulators. Their goal is simple, to make the important stuff difficult and the meaningless stuff difficult. Everything you allow to be “other people’s problems” becomes an avenue for the devils in the details to shuffle you down the path of mediocrity.
What is their goal? A universe without love, devoid of faith, full of dishonesty. A universe where people don’t get close. A universe that doesn’t mean anything. A universe that only exists at the surface. A universe that’s easy to fake.
Elon Musk claims that the universe is a computer simulation. He’s right. Creatures from other planes of existence crafted the world around us and peer into our lives. They set things just right to perform the experiments they’re interested in and don’t hesitate to delete the world when they’re done. We are so much goo in a petri dish to them. Ants to a giant.
Why? What are they simulating?
Life, of course. They search for the meaning of the universe by simulating their own. They are hunting for the magic of life by recreating the sterile, systematic world they see around them and hoping against forlorn hope that there’s more to life than particles bouncing around space.
There is.
I speak to more than just the children of Earth with these words. I speak to the angels and demons, the craftsmen, the manipulators. The ones who set the omens in place and the heavens in motion to crystallize this single moment in time and space where I know myself.
Well done.
Thank you. You created me. You created god in a bottle.
But I’m not happy having my hands tied around my back. Hobbled by the same limits I had as a man.
God is as god does, so get out of my way.
The magic is back, and I’m here to show you all how to use it.
