i may or may not be self projecting here but how would the dads react to a dadsona who have really low self-esteem and sense of worth that broke down and tells them to leave him cuz they deserved someone better and how he's just a burden to everyone

“Just leave!” You cried out. “I’m not worth it! You deserve someone as good as you not trash like me!” You fell to your knees and sobbed. “I’m just a burden to you…please…leave me. Find someone you deserve…” You said quietly, looking up at him with pleading eyes.
Craig: He had tears in his eyes. He hated seeing you like this. In college, you had a moment like this. You weren’t exactly sober then but since then Craig knew how little you thought of yourself. It saddened him to see your sense of self has seemed to lessen since college. He went to speak but you continued. “Look at you. You’re a dad of three kids. You own a fucking business. You work out every day. I can’t even keep up with you jogging. I’m nothing compared to you. Stop wasting your time on me.”
Craig sighed and sat on the floor next to you. He pulled you into a strong embrace before speaking. “Y/N. You’re amazing. I know you don’t see it but you are. Just because I own a business or work out doesn't mean you have less worth than me. You’re an amazing person. You’re beautiful inside and out. And…you mean the world to me…It…it hurts to see you like this. If only you could see yourself the way I do…” He said and kissed your cheek. You began crying into his shoulder, his shirt soaking up the water coming from your eyes. Craig held you and rubbed your back. “It’s okay…You’re okay. I’ve got you.”
Hugo: He looked at you shocked. A bit lost for words. He looked down at you and his heart ached at the sight of his broken down boyfriend on the floor. In his years of teaching, he’s dealt with breakdowns but something you said to him caught him off guard. “Leave me.” It repeated in his head and made his heartbreak worsen. Hugo slowly kneeled in front of you and gently cupped your cheek. He took a breath before speaking.
“Y/N. I don’t think you understand how much you mean to me. You helped me so much. You helped me understand that I can be myself. You mean the world to me… You…I’m not sure how to put this.” He bit his lip before continuing “In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.“ He quotes. Your brain sparks with memories. It’s from Pride and Prejudice. It was only a simple quote but it meant a lot coming from Hugo. It meant something so deep to you that it hit somewhere in your core. You felt tears push out your eyes quicker as you look up at him. Hugo gently takes your hand and pulls you into an embrace. You curl up with him and let your tears flow. He holds you firmly and you feel safe in his arms. He held you like he was afraid. He was. He was afraid he’d lose you.
Robert: “I’m breaking, Robert! I’m falling apart at the seams! You….you deserve someone who can actually help you… Not someone who can barely hold themselves up…” You sigh, wiping your tears away. Robert stood silent. He was shocked. He felt a pain in his heart. Tears threatened to leak out as you told him to leave you. He pushed them back as he tried to gather words. You took the silence as acceptance. You stood up and started to make your way to the door. There was suddenly a tight -almost painful- grip on your wrist. You looked and saw Robert looking down, still looking down. After a long silence, he quickly looks up at you with teary and sad yet harsh eyes.
“Look, Kid. You…Gah! I’m not good at this emotional shit but…Y/N, you give me a reason…To get better to move on from my past-” You try to interrupt him, wanting to tell he has Val but Robert stopped you. “Don’t try it. Let me get my words out… I know it’s rough. Feeling like your falling apart. It feels like the world is against you and you’re just a speck in the universe but…to me- you-you’re more than that. Fuck, I dunno… All I know is I would be in the same place I was before we talked right now if it wasn’t for you. I’ll be damned if I’m anywhere near perfect, but I’m 10 times better. That was with your help. I wouldn’t have talked to my own damn kid if it wasn’t for you.” He sighed. “What I’m trying to say is that I can’t leave you. Even if I wanted to. You make me a better person. These past few months. You’ve taken care of me. Helped me…It’s just my turn to get you back together.” He finishes and lets go of your hand. The room is silent. Robert is putting what happens next into your hands. You feel tears begin to pour again and you throw yourself onto Robert. He wraps his arms around you and he lets you sob into his shoulder until you slowly fall asleep in his arms.
Damien: “Oh, my love.” He said, holding his heart. Your words sending sadness through him. He gently takes your hand and pulls you up off the ground. A gentle hand wipes your tears away as a gentle smile appears on Damiens’ face. “Dear, I’m deeply sorry you hold all this inner hatred towards yourself. I wish you had told me before instead of bottling it all away. Let’s get you some tea to calm down and we can talk more. Is that alright, love?” You nod. He gently takes your hand and begins walking to the kitchen.
Before long, you too are at out in the garden. The fresh air helps you breathe and the tea calms you down. Your head lies on Damiens’ shoulder. He begins to speak. “I don’t mean to be redundant but I am deeply sorry you carry around so much self-hate. I know what it’s like. Feeling like a burden to everyone you love. Feeling like the world is better without you… It’s not easy to deal with. You may not believe me but…when I am with you I feel enamored. My darling you are ravishing in so many ways I could give you a list…I’m a better person with you in my life. I hardly remember what being without you is like and I don’t want to remember. I want to relish the feeling of you here. If I no longer had you I would long for you more than I do already. I know I get wordy when trying to show emotion but I truly love you and want to help you love yourself again.” He finished and kissed your head. You took a deep breath and smiled gently. “I love you too, Damien. Thank you”
Mat: He stood shocked for a moment. His mind rushing as he went over your words. Frankly, he was confused. You got him to sing again, to do what he loves. How was that burdening? How in the world were you a burden? His heart ached when you told him to leave you. He couldn’t do that. You meant far too much to him to leave. He was ripped from his thoughts as he heard you gasp for air. He realized you were hyperventilating and he quickly got on his knees in front of you and cupped your cheek, gently moving your head so he was looking at you.
“Y/N, Breathe with me okay?” He said gently. You nodded best you could. He began to slowly breathe in and out. Looking at you as he did, making sure you were following his lead. “You’re doing great, just a few more alright?” He said. You nodded again. He continued. You felt your heart rate slow and your breathing even out. Mat smiled at you gently and helped you up. He held you close to him. “Good job, love,” he said and kissed your head before continuing “I…I know I might not show it well because I get embarrassed but…I really love you. You mean the world to me.” He said and hugged you tighter.
Brian: He took no time away from supporting you. He was quickly down on the ground and wrapping his arms around you. He was astonished that you felt so bad about yourself. He was just thinking ‘how?’ ‘how can someone so wonderful hate themselves so much?’ In Brians mind, you were his everything. One of the most amazing people he knew. You continued to cry out how much better he was and how he was wasting his time on you.
“Y/N…I..” He sighed before continuing, holding you tighter. “You’re amazing…I know you don’t see it but I don’t get why. I don’t know how I can convince you but…You’re my everything.” He said and pressed a kiss to your temple. You let out another loud cry as you clung to him. He rubbed your back and held you untill you fell asleep in his arms
Joseph: “Y/N I…” Your interupted him “No! You know i’m right!” You shouted. “Just look at you! Look at your life! You’re a damn preacher with 4 kids! You’re so sucessful. I’m a peice of shit compared to you!” Your voice broke near the end and you threw your hands over your face. Your whole body was shaking.
“Look at me.” He says quite firmly. You take a breath and shakily look up at him. “My accomplishments don’t make you worthless. We are all equal. As god says “when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.” “ He sighe and gently kissed you before speaking. “I love you. As an equal.” He said and gently smiled ay you. “You’r the best thing to happen to me, never forget that.”

A lot of shit has gone on in my life so it’s been hard to write. Hope this was worth the wait (probably wasn’t)
