Update

We are currently waiting on a WAV which will allow us to have days out and go shopping etc. This has come just in time for easing uk lockdown restrictions, so this summer should be a good thing. Just a reminder though that we should go out with caution, not just following government guideline. I am a carer for a person with a serious mental and physical disabilities so I take extra care when I go out, including face coverings and distancings. Truth be told I don't really like being out in crowds so this isn't an inconvenience for me. With all of this in mind I'm optimistic that this summer is going to be a great summer and i'm hoping to keep here up to date, so expect more updates, but I apologise if they come irregularly. Quick update. We've got an electric wheelchair so my partner is mobile! Having a blast just going around our little town. Hope you are all staying safe.

We've just returned from camping at a Haven campsite and I have to say that the accessible facilities were appalling. Floor was constantly wet and caused a slip that hurt my partners hip.

It was a beautiful campsite and the wildlife is enchanting but we were too far from the facilities despite warning them beforehand and them supposedly putting us near the facilities.

A trip to the shops with someone DID and disabilities is never just a trip to the shops.

We had "whooping" down the Isles, confirming that it's actually my partner and not her 4 year old alter being greedy, legs cramps and masked faces triggering my partners ticks.

Face masks can be distressing for people with mental illness, not just wearing them but seeing everyone in them.

Be kind, some people cannot wear face coverings.

Never use the word “crazy” to describe someone with serious mental health issues.

It really isn’t okay and is pretty much a slur. 

Its a real bad look on you.

It makes you an asshole.

It hurts real communities of people trying to recover.

Don’t use the word crazy for real mental health issues.

Last panel, definitely. Gremlin does scratch and bite but out of affection, seldom anger.

I believe the movies and TV are giving people the wrong idea about DID and other personality and mental health disorders. Maybe the worst is the television autism super awkward super genius. Even a positive stereotype can be offensive.

Gremlin Nesting habits - an introduction to Gremlin (Greenous Gremlo) behaviour ex situ (2020)

Inspections on a undetermined gender wild Gremlin reveal that Gremlins will set up temporary encampment for later use. The "nests" are typically within reaching distance of the Gremlin and can used to store anything from food to toys.

Recent discovery has found a packet of quavers, a wireless headphone case with Stitch (from Disneys Lilo and Stitch) protective case and a DVD box set of how to train your dragons.

When confronted the Gremlin seems unapologetic about making the nest and slightly miffed about me finding it.

More observations to come.

When Bex and I first started dating none of her alters trusted me. After a short while though Gremlin is legit in love with me (I'm veggie and he loves meat and hates people taking it, which is a huge aggression trigger) and we have a strong bond and all of her alters either like or tolerate me at the very least.

As a side note, Gremlin is of undetermined gender but we refer to Gremlin as a He. Don't know why, sorry for any confusion

We tested out the new tent. It's a taller model made by Trespass, it is supposed to sleep 4 people but that doesn't seem plausible when you're camping with someone with reduced mobility.

My partner has CP, DID, Autism, epilepsy and tourettes. We got a smaller 4 man tent originally, it was fine once you're in but getting out with assistance is near impossible with limited head room.

The new tent had a bedroom compartment and a living area and stands around six feet tall. It's notably taller but not much wider than smaller tents but we found it very comfortable and the extra height meant I can more easily assisted my partner. Just as a side note I stand at 6 foot 3 inches, and she stands at 5 foot 6 inches.

I built the tent in around 30 minutes, it was very straightforward as the poles are colour coded as well as the edges of the sleeve that the pole goes into. I'm not a very handy person, so the tent is easy to build.

The new tent was purchased from Argos (UK) for £100.

The inside was large enough for my our double mattress a small table with a lamp and room for a medium sized dog to rest peacefully all night. The vents are nice for when your medium sized dog farts regularly.

If anyone is interested in trying one out, it's a 4 person tunnel tent by Trespass.
