Today’s stand is: Oasis!

Secco and Oasis are an interesting case for me, personally I absolutely love the concept of wearable stands and Oasis, being the other example of this is a personal favorite. But the archetype of a animalistic ally insane person has always been hit or miss for me, either they get annoying really fast or are incredibly charming, Secco dips into both categories for me, his sudden 180 in personality when Ciacollata dies is just a tad bit annoying to me but his amazing fight with Bruno makes up for it, although I do wish he had a better death scene.

I decided I wanted to use a dirty looking material for this piece, but I was having trouble deciding exactly what I wanted to use until it hit me! Cardboard! I turned down the intensity of the laser to an almost non-existent beam and it turned out amazingly well!!! The amount of detail is very impressive!

Today's stand is: Green Day!

Green Day is one of those stands that I remember the stand user more than the stand, but that doesn't mean that it's arc isn't enjoyable! I think that Green Day is another perfect example of a stand that's perfect for its user and matches their personality to a T. Ciacollata’s generally toxic personality as well as his doctoral background make for genius and grotesque uses of his stand. Design wise I am quite partial to the Part 5 video games appearance, specifically speaking towards its lower half, the sludge-like muk legs it has in the game I feel make it unique instead of just regular huminoid legs, it gives it more of a fungal vibe. I can not express how happy I am with how beautiful the 7 page muda came out!

In terms of my piece I'm not quite happy with it, as one of my fellow classmates took my piece out of the laser printer before it was complete so the Sketch of Greenday itself didn't finish the amount of passes I set for it to do which resulted in the cut not going in as deep, as well as the actual Logo of Green Day did not cut through all the way like I intended. I would have put the piece in the printer again but lining the cut out in with the printer exactly is a near-impossible task. I chose a triangle cut out because I thought it looked like a caution sign. The piece is a medium green acrylic.

Deepest apologies

I want to deeply apologize with my noticeable absence, I had to deal with my final couple of months of high school as well as several anxiety and home issues, but I would like to firmly say that I completed every single stand piece from vento aureo, I will proceed to continue my upload schedule as normal.

Today’s Stand is: Spice Girl!

Last weeks episode was so good I just had to show my piece for her! Oh apologies, I meant to say Spice Lady... hahaha

I must say that last weeks episode definantly heightened my love for Trish’s Stand, it’s ability to soften things translates exceptionally well to animation and that makes me so happy, I know my mother loves the musical reference as well since she happens to be a spice girls fan!

The material used was a clear pink acrylic, and for this I used a sketch Araki drew instead of the stand stat page because I thought it looked cuter.

Traitor’s Requiem Fan Lyrics

This is probably something different than you’re used to huh? I decided I wanted to try and do some minor things during the week and save the bigger pieces for Jojo Friday’s, especially with the corresponding episodes for the stands! Today’s Stand is: Notorious B.I.G!

Notorious B.I.G is by far one of my favorite, if not my favorite enemy stand in all of part 5. Everything about it is just so incredibly bizarre and different than every other stand it makes it so unique and special! The concept of Carne practically being a suicide bomber for Unita Speciale is such an interesting one! Imagine how much faith the boss must have had in him in order to put his abilities to the test because there is no way Carne nor the boss could have known that his stand could be active post Mortem like that! Not to mention I happen to be a fan of Biggie Small’s music so that’s just a plus! It’s such an interesting arc in general and the anime has made the stand 10x more scary than I could have ever imagined! But that doesn’t take away from me thinking that the little slimy version of Notorious B.I.G is by far the cutest stand I’ve ever seen, I know it almost killed the entire crew so is it bad for me to think that? I’m sorry!

This piece was made with a medium plywood and on top of it being a 3D engravement of one of my favorite stands, this is one of my favorite pieces I’ve made!!!! Despite its small size the printer totally captured all of the minute details of Notorious B.I.G’s design, it’s probably one of my most successful 3D engravements, I hate to sound pompous but I’m incredibly proud of myself for that!

Today’s Stand is: Talking Head!

Tiziano’s Talking Head, despite having no offensive capabilities whatsoever is a perfect pair with Squalo’s Clash! Their shares arc together definantly give some retrospect on the high stakes the bosses elites guard present. Thinking about it is a tad scary not gonna lie! I absolutely love Tiziano’s design in the anime, frankly a lot more than the manga, something about the cream colored hair and eyes is really appealing! One of my favorite things that Tiziano and Squalo have to offer is a deep emotional background with eachother which is similar to how I feel about the majority of La Squadra. Personally Talking heads overall design kind of freaks me out, but that’s most likely some kind of subconscious fear towards wormy parasites I developed as a child watching the animal planet.

In this piece I used a thick red acrylic with a silhouette instead of a cut or engravement because I genuinely thought that looked cooler, I tried to add a similar effect like I did with a shark bite and Clash, I couldn’t decide on what though so I just engraved some waves on top of the piece. I made it in the shape of a puzzle piece too if you couldn’t tell!

Bonus Make for this week! 

I’m almost finished with all my prints for Vento Aureo so I decided to make a logo for it for when I’m all finished. I always liked the name GioGio better for part 5 then Jojo so I decided to make the logo print reflect that!

Today’s Stand is: Clash!

Squalo’s Stand Clash is a very simple yet insanely powerful stand who’s arc is one of my favorites for the stand user alone. The capabilities of being able to teleport between liquids is such an incredibly simplistic mechanism but it’s used in so many creative and unique ways! My only disappointment with the stand is that we never really saw it grow to be very big or have some type of boat chase ( which I was expecting/ anticipating ). I kinda wish Clash had a brighter color palate in the anime though.

The material I used was a thick blue acrylic, I used a cut out instead of an engravement because I thought it looked a lot cooler, I also added a little shark bite in the top corner because I thought it was pretty funny! But of course this frivolous attempt at humor ended up causing me to get a shallow and temporarily painful cut on my finger. Perhaps getting a cut from those sharp shark teeth is some type of irony considering the stand, thinking of this in a humorous manner seemed to dull the pain as I applied some 91% isopropyl alcohol to my small wound. I’m fine though, no need to worry!

The silhouette used is from Clash’s stand stat page per usual. If you’re wondering why it’s cut in the form of a puzzle piece, well, find out next week for next weeks stand!

Today’s Stand is: Metallica!

Metalica is definantly my favorite “colony” stand. Everything about it is beyond terrifying and brings my worst fears into fruition! Araki is amazing at drawing such gruesome scenes it genuinely puts me in a state of awe, particularly in Risoto’s fight with Doppio. Metallica’s fight is by far one of my favorite fights in the whole series for this reason alone, I can’t wait to see how the anime interperates it! Risotto is such an amazing leader, one of my favorite members of La Squadra!

This piece was done with dark walnut wood and with this piece I made a few tiny mistakes, the first one is that the box Metallica’s portrait is in is a little off centered. The other “mistake” is that I accidentally made the machine cut the name “Metallica” a little more than usual which resulted in it cutting through the wood a little, at first I thought I ruined the whole piece but after a while I started to grow fond of this happy little mistake! It looks incredibly nice when up against a light! The art, again is from Metallica’s stand stat page.

And with that, all of La Squadra’s stands have been completed! Next I will be doing the entirety of L’Unita Speciale! I will be switching the updates of the blog to a few times a week, hoping to get something extra special for Jojo Friday’s of course!

Deepest apologies

I want to deeply apologize for the delay in posts, I know I never posted any type of schedule but I still feel exceptionally bad for not informing you of at tiny hiatus. I needed to take a break so I could get a backlog of pieces completed before starting the blog up again, I’m almost finished printing all the part 5 stands so I don’t think we’re going to have this problem again.

Today’s Stand is: White Album/Gently Weeps!

Not only is White Album one of my favorite La Squadra Stands, this is one of my favorite pieces in general! White Albums arc is by far one of the most emotionally gratifying and intense fights out of all of them for me. It’s incredible all the twists and turns the arc took but was still cohesive and interesting. Now despite the fact that Mista was shot more than 10 times if I remember correctly, no part of the fight felt really “Deus ex machina” to me. Ghiaccio is one of my favorite members of La Squadra in general, it was quite the humorous surprise to hear bakugo’s va voice him, it fits perfectly!

This piece was made with a clear acrylic and I can’t express enough how happy I am with this piece, it turned out so perfectly! By far my favorite part about this piece is the font I used, “Douar”, it kind of reminds me of a font that you would see on a poster of sports movie in the 80’s which I think fits White Albums theme super well. I also added the name of White Albums technique “Gently Weeps” because I thought it looked really cool. The art was taken from White Albums stand stat page.

Today’s Stand is: Baby Face!

Baby Face, although it is 100% my least favorite stand out of la Squadra, has probably my favorite sound design out of all of them. The slime like cube noises are really satisfying, plus I’m a sucker for loud keyboard typing noises, it’s a noise that puts me at ease. Baby Face’s Stand ability is probably the most elaborate and confusing out of part 5 for me and I think that’s saying something considering the stigma around the main villains stand ability.

This piece is different than all my others because instead of using wood I used a clear blue acrylic which in my opinion was the best choice to capture all of Baby Faces details. By far my favorite part of this piece is that due to the shading on the computer screen it gives the piece a slight bit of depth thanks to the 3D engravement. Again the art was taken from the stand stat page on Baby Face.

Today’s stand is: Beach Boy!

Beach Boy is by far my favorite stand from La Squadra and is arguably the strongest as well! Beach boys stand is a perfect combination of odd and powerful. It would’ve been a much harder stand to face if Pesci has matured a little bit sooner. Beach Boy’s fight with Buccaratti unironically made me tense up and grit my teeth with suspense in both manga and anime form, I think it’s even more impressive that the anime made me tense up just as much as the manga seeing as I read the manga first!

This piece was made with the same material as The Greatful Dead’s piece, medium draftwood. I just did a simple engravement this time because I felt like it would come out a lot cleaner somehow, And it did! Again, I used the stand stat page for Beach Boy to get the artwork.

Today’s Stand is: The Grateful Dead!

Although I love it’s design to bits, I have to say it’s probably one of my least favorite stands in La Squadra. It’s probably due to my general annoyance against any type of story arc or ability that has to do with aging. But I must give props towards The Grateful Dead’s conditions for its aging ability, the whole body temperature thing is incredibly unique and interesting to keep hold of. Although there was a clear amount of leniency towards its rules. For example, I must question how Number 6 was holding that exact same ice cube for what I can assume to be a solid 15 minutes, I mean it was extremely lucky for Bruno, but it’s very perplexing. Maybe stands don’t give off body temperature so the ice didn’t melt as quickly? The environment around number 6 should have melted it quick enough though.....I better stop rambling I’m getting ahead of myself, sorry!

This piece was made with Medium Draftboard.

This piece is also 3D engraved as you can see the indents and texture caused by the different levels of color. The art was taken directly from The Grateful Dead’s stand stat page.

This piece is on the smaller side as I’ve been trying to be more mindful of the materials I use for each piece, this will definantly bug me as I proceed with all the other stands, as Little Feet and Man in the Mirror are a lot LOT bigger than all the rest. Curse my strive for perfection! I also decided to use a more interesting font for The Greatful Dead, trying to make it look kind of like a old school horror movie poster.
