been in therapy + new meds for half a year now and can’t say i’m too happy with the results yet. my therapist might have to stop seeing me because i’m not making enough progress for the insurance company to see as viable. i’m past the 90 day mark and am not improving enough at this rate to be worthy of being “covered”.

seeing mental health professionals write me off as a survey statistic and my insurance telling me i’m not getting better fast enough is extremely discouraging. to add salt to the wound, i was literally told I was “regressing” which is not acceptable by therapeutic standpoints. you offer alternative methods, not just tell a patient they are getting worse. that in itself can trigger a spiral into relapsing to regression especially from a mental health professional. there’s layers to how fucked our mental health system (and overall system) is because at the end of the day you are reduced to a statistic.

i’ve been fighting tooth & nail against this stupid system for me to keep getting the mental health services i NEED under my healthcare plan! there’s been a lot of growth and i’m not giving up but i really wish i was at a better point in my recovery than i am now so to say the least: i’m exhausted. thankfully i have my dog and bf by my side.
