     ❛ Shocking. ❜ there’s a touch of humor to his tone, the quirk of his lips an automatic the second he hears Trubel’s carefully apologetic admission. It’s not like she needs to tip toe around the kitchen - - it’s her home now, too. He’s become a lot more accepting of change in these last few years of his life, although it wasn’t as if he had a choice in THAT regard. Still, it has made adapting a lot easier. And welcoming someone he didn’t know into his home, well it wasn’t nearly as strange as most of the events in his life had turned out to be. 

If he’s honest - - and Nick can admit that he’s so used to bending the truth sometimes it’s difficult to distinguish the line between honesty and kindness - - it’s oddly comforting having another Grimm around. Someone to which he can relate to. Hank and the others may know the tale, but they’re hardly equipped to fight off all the monsters. Besides, he’s grown fond of the younger Grimm. Enough that her flighty nature is often a cause of great concern. 

     ❛ As far as I know, lasagna wasn’t the only thing to eat here. Unless you’ve taken care of everything else, too? ❜ Openly teasing, his eyes briefly flicker to her own before focusing on the coffee he’s been reminiscing over rather than pouring. ❛ Coffee? ❜

in his hand resides her sketch book that she uses to think of new ideas & plans. there are times she will doodle little objects or sceneries when she is out & about. to have lost that would have felt like a piece of herself was lost. lips curve into a gentle smile, feet taking a step towards the man. “Thank you so much. I do not know what I would have done if I had lost that.”

     ❛ No need to thank me. ❜ he’s grown accustomed to noticing small details in crowded environments. while many could, and would, blame his keen sensory on paranoia, in the end it proved to serve him well. 

     ❛  — I’d hope someone would do the same for me if they’d noticed something falling from my person. ❜ his mouth curves politely as he extends the arm holding her possession.
