판매 접점(Point of Sale)을 컨트롤하지 못하면 제품에 들어간 혁신도 인정받지 못한다. 일반 매장에서 다른 제품과 똑같이 단순한 상품으로 팔리면 소비자 눈에도 별다른 가치가 없어 보인다. 혁신 경쟁에서 이길 자신이 있다면, 전용 오프라인 스토어를 열어야 한다. 애플이 사람들의 반대에도 불구하고 오프라인 스토어를 열어 미국에서 평당 매출 1위를 차지하고 있는 것도 혁신적인 제품의 판매 접점을 잘 컨트롤하고 있기 때문이다.

The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. 통계학과 기계학습의 차이

자소서 쓰면서 정리해본 통계학과 기계학습의 차이.

통계학과 기계학습(Machine Learning)의 차이는 사용하는 알고리즘이나 방법론의 차이가 아니라 ‘목표와 전략’의 차이다. 간단히는 ‘과학’과 ‘공학’의 관계와 비슷하다고 본다. 통계학은 모델의 신뢰도(validity)를 확보하는 것, 즉 정해진 분포나 가정을 통해 실패의 위험을 줄이는 데 주 목적을 둔다. ML의 목적인 ‘본 적 없는 새로운 데이터를 분류하는 것'은 통계학에서는 비교적 비중이 낮다. 통계학은 예측을 수행할 수 있는 기술은 있지만, 통계적 추론(Inferential Statistics)의 일부 정도의 비중을 지닌다. 반면 기계학습의 제1 목적은 데이터의 '패턴'을 분석해 높은 성공률로 새로운 데이터를 올바른 클래스로 분류하는 데 있다. 실패의 위험을 낮추는 것(통계)과 성공률을 높이는 것(ML)이 같은 말처럼 보일지 모르지만, ML은 실패에 집착하지 않기 때문에 모델에 필요한 갖가지 가정과 검증에 신경쓰는 데서 해방될 수 있다. 예를 들어 Bayesian Model은 속성들이 독립되어 있어야 하지만 실제로는 속성들이 독립적이지 않은 상황에서도 좋은 결과를 낸다. 기계학습은 성공률만 높으면 되기 때문에 이런 게 문제가 되지 않아서 속성들이 그냥 독립적이라는 것을 Naive하게 가정한 Naive Bayesian Model을 많이 사용한다. 또 기계학습은 궁극적으로 완성된 모델을 통해 기존 의사결정 프로세스를 대체하는 데 목적이 있다. 따라서 어떻게 구현될 것이며 얼마나 빨라야 할지 등 프로그래밍과 관련된(통계학과는 거리가 먼) 실질적인 고민이 필요하다. 기계학습과 통계학은 데이터를 통해 문제를 해결한다는 점에서는 일맥상통하지만, 실질적으로 같다거나 하나가 하나의 세부분야라고 할 수 없는, 엄연히 서로의 목표와 추구하는 바가 다른 분야이다.

Many of you noobs told me that the game was too hard, so I lowered the score of entering level 2 from 300 to 150.

I was then worried about game being too easy, so I made new enemies. There are paper balls now as well! Also, there are green goo lumps on the floor that will make you slow while moving around them.

If you eat cookies(there is no poison this time, don't worry) during the game, you will be (always) given a barrier, which makes you invulnerable for 15 score points.
