I wish more people understood that just because people in the past had less accurate knowledge about the world, doesn’t mean they were just prone to thinking totally irrational, out-there thoughts all the time. Nor did they all have simplistic thoughts or something. Like, a lot of ideas that seem completely nonsensical to us now generally make sense in the contexts of their times, and many of them are very well thought-out even if they turned out to be totally wrong. Just because people had less information to go on, doesn’t mean they were super bad at thinking or something.
