Here are some texture explorations for my senior film- Alone in the Night. we are trying a stylized rendering within just black and white color.
This stone lamp is modeled from one of our team members. Texture is not really my specialized so all I am doing here is just some explorations for future direction. I am only familiar with the basic process could be done in Photoshop. So I started from a basic colormap, did the uv cut and looked for some watercolor paintings reference.
Really appreciate the MNPRX team who allowed us to use those awesome 3d filter for our film. Here’s the link to their website for whoever also wanna try stylized rendering I highly recommended. https://artineering.io/software/MNPRX/
I applied the watercolor filter. for now it’s still really basic setup. They have a lot attributes that allows me to play around with it. what I did is mainly to add more fuzziness around the edges and the paint brushes, which turned out to be quite decent:)
