What is WinterKnights?

WinterKnights is a BBC Merlin Fandom prompt-based fest for the winter holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Traditional Yule, Winter Solstice, or New Years celebrations are all welcome!

What are the requirements?

❄  All submissions must have a theme of winter and/or any holiday held during December ❄  Submissions can be any rating, any pairing/moresome, and any genre ❄  All content is allowed, providing it is properly warned for. ❄  Fic submissions must be at least 500 words long with no maximum word limit. We do not accept AI generated fics. ❄  Art can be any of the following: Traditional art (pencil, painting, digital etc.), photo manipulations, graphics or handmade crafts e.g Christmas tree ornaments. AI generated art is not accepted for this fest. We also welcome podfic, fanmixes, and more. If you have a question about what is allowed, please just ask! ❄ Can't think of an idea? Princess finds a bedraggled knight wandering just outside the castle walls with no heraldry and a wilted plume (a common sign of emotional neglect in knights) and begs the queen to let her keep him. The queen warns about the dangers of adopting wild knight errants but the princess promises to take good care of him and make sure to keep him away from their domesticated knights until he’s properly adjusted. Queen finally relents once she sees his rusted kit, broken sword, and the saddest brown eyes known to man. Princess claps her hands excitedly and drags him off to the apothecary to make sure he doesn’t have worms.

About his relationship with Colin: When Colin (Morgan) & I met, we spoke about what we wanted for our characters and the dynamic of the relationship. We had a great time working together and hanging out together, we had aligned senses of humour. It was a bit odd, honestly, we had an almost telepathic understanding at times, which was beneficial on and off set. So, I think that camaraderie, as well as the great performances by the other actors and the discoveries the producers were making along the way, made it exciting for the audience to watch.
