me when feeling suspiciously relaxed: what responsibility have i forgotten
location: ellswick tower (lobby area)
time: early evening
status: open (1/4) ( @onlymurdersstart )
one of the smaller, but greatest perks of living in ellswick tower was the always well stocked vending machines. unlike at the clinic, savannah didn't have to struggle to find something that she liked. while she was in desperate need of going grocery shopping, the girl was craving something to snack on for the evening. blue orbs were fixated on peanut butter m&m's and nerds gummy glusters, being unable to decide between salty and sweet. just when she was about to pay for her treats, she lets out a frustrated groan when the card reader conveniently decided to stop working.
cash only.
"are you shitting me?" she groaned out. as if she had any coins or dollar bills on her. usually they never let her down like this. "hey, you got any cash on ya? stupid vending machine is feeling old school right now," she called out to the first person who had walked in through the lobby.
when she was about to ready to leave the building, savannah ended up catching her attention for a moment. natalia considered letting her be and continuing on as if nothing happened, but after a question was asked, she pursed her lips. she originally wanted to say no. she needed the money after all, especially with how prices continued to increase and feeling she hasn't been making as much lately. nonetheless, the brunette let out a sigh before digging through her wallet. two dollars appeared before handing them over. “there. i guess this can count as my good deed of the day, huh?”

she would be lying if she said she hadn't thought about him since their break up. the thought of reaching out, asking if he was doing okay and what he's been up to came to mind, before thinking it was better to leave things as they are. communication was two ways after all, she didn't need to be the first one to reach out. nonetheless, there are moments she catches herself hoping he's doing alright. what she didn't expect though was running into him face to face. the idea of turning around and pretending she didn't notice him immediately popped up, but was too stubborn to stray from her path. “hey,” she spoke quietly at first. “i'm surprised to see you around.”

Josie felt like her brain hadn't shut off since the night she found out about Devon. Between sleeping too much and not being able to sleep at all, she was exhausted and figured that some sun might be able to help with it all. She brushed her hair out of her face as she laid on one of the many empty chaise lounges alongside the pool, letting out a heavy sigh as she tried to take in her current surroundings. Feeling a tinge of hope pop up in her chest when her eyes met another person that seemed to have the same idea as her, "Take the one next to me, pleaseeee." Dragging out the word to try to convince them more. "I really could use the company today."

if it were up to her, she would have decided to stay by herself and be alone. she mainly wanted some fresh air, as being at her apartment was starting to feel stifling. she didn't expect to run into a familiar face though. if it were almost anyone else, she would have said she'll pass and stayed where she was, but with josie… it was difficult to say no. after biting her lip, she showed a small smile before making her way to the seat beside hers. “alright, alright. no need to beg, jo.” her eyes gave a look of concern for a moment before slowly shaking her head. “so, how are you doing?” she asked genuinely.

sitting on the couch, she sat cross legged while keeping her attention onto the other. whenever she had free time, or became bored at her own place, one of the places she visited often was mateo's. at least when he allowed her to come over anyway. usually a quick text would send before making her way to his. “so, with me having the night off… what should we do tonight? we could go out, go to a club, see if there's anyone that'll catch our attention? or we can always order food, stay in, and watch a movie." nat didn't have a huge preference this time, wanting to hear what he was in the mood for instead.
open to: everyone! (capping at 4) @onlymurdersstart location: the corner booth
it didn't feel real, given her last memory of devon, he looked so...full of life, he was looking forward to record the latest episode of his podcast, cerys laughing and rolling her eyes about how giddy he was before they both disappeared in their own apartments. the doctor didn't really understand his fascination with true crime, she had encountered some weird cases in the few years of her career, yet most of them she wishes to forget.
she sat down in one of the booths at the place as she decompresses from a long shift at the clinic, it seems like even though she had put herself to work, she can't shake the news off of what happened to him. she had been staring down at her coffee, which was almost getting cold when somebody clears their throat, which makes her look around and notice how crowded it's been, before she turns to look at the person standing by her booth. "sorry, yeah, you can sit, i can share..." she gestures at the spot opposite her that was empty. "long night, or early morning?" she can't help but ask.
after she heard the news about devon, it felt surreal in a way. as if everything going on around her wasn't real, and she was just in a dream. although they weren't the closest, she still considered them friends. so to lose someone that was close by… she tried not to think too much about it. she focused on work, friends, and art. anything to distract herself from reality. still needing to eat, and not being fascinated by what was in her fridge, she chose to stop by the corner booth.
unfortunately, natalia didn't think the place would be busy, but upon seeing an empty seat, she attempted to grab cerys' attention. “thanks,” she muttered, sitting across from the other before taking a menu. a few seconds of silenced passed before glancing back to her. “long night. what about you?” she didn't mean to keep the response short but food became the main thing on her mind at the moment.
( priscilla quintana, cis woman, she/her ) natalia estrada the twenty-eight year old lives in room 701 on floor 7. it is said that they have been here at ellswick tower for five years. the dancer is said to be diligent and reserved which makes sense when you think about how they were a fling to devon carrington, who was just found dead.
