All of the objects are actually animatronics in this au. They are based on objects as they were made to be able to teach children, teens and adults alike for a bunch of stuff.

It was clear though that spirits had entered the animatronics at some point. Nobody knows when, but it happened. They were under the assumption that they’re still alive and when that illusion is broken they get dangerous and unhinged. 

So they were quickly grabbed by a team of paranormal experts that built a facility to make sure that the animatronics would feel safe the best they can. These paranormal experts have a lot of empathy so instead of the usual test subject things they actually genuinely try to make this the most safe for all of them.

But of course humans being humans this means that people often want to steal them for horror reasons, sex reasons or reasons that boil down to ‘just cause I can’. This means they need a security guard throughout the day. 

The problem is that often people are dressed up like everyday humans in these rooms to make sure the illusion is ruined. A guard in a rather impressive lock down security office obviously rather easily breaks that illusion. So they kind of have it out for whoever is in there. 

In the day before your shift begins, you can talk to five animatronics and see if you can get them to like you. If they do you get a 'love' ending, which means they'll help you in the night. If they're neutral at the end you'll get a 'friend' ending which means they can go either way later or simply not be active in the night. Or you get a 'hate' ending which is a surfier way to get them hunting you in the night.

So good luck night guard. Every single animatronic has a way to help you and a way to go in against you. These are still being worked on and I will show off when I have more. As well as their backstories are being worked on.
