“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day.”
Crap. I meant to put that in a read more post. Sorry!
Dear RIB,
I think I speak on behalf of most of the fandom when I ask this: What have you done to that little show that lifted spirits? You know, the one that put a smile on our faces and a song in our hearts? Don't you remember it? The storylines were mostly uplifting and encouraging, and the characters were strong-willed and passionate. There was a girl, Rachel Berry, who didn't care about anything but her dreams and her insanely-bright future, and was such a role model to so many people. I don't think you're writing the same show anymore, because Rachel (Hudson-)Berry is not the girl I remember. The thing is, I've been waiting for over a year for you guys to salvage the potential you once had and bring the show back to what it once was. I've never cared this much over something as silly as a TV show before, but I fell in love with the characters and I could relate to all of them. They inspired me, and so many others. The thought of these seemingly-new characters inspiring others now, well, it makes me sad. I don't want to see kids as young as seventeen and eighteen getting married. I don't want to see a kid, when asked about their future, reply that they see themselves either "dead" or "in jail". It's not funny. It's not encouraging. You guys have so much power over teenagers and young people, and you're almost abusing that. Please start thinking seriously about your storylines, and until then, I'll keep watching with faith that is slowly fizzing out, for my little show to come back. I trust you guys. You were good once, remember?
