Me: "I don't talk about The Outsiders that much"
Also, me:
Some of you didn't pay attention to English class and it fucking shows, you can't like the outsiders and support billionaires, one of the key parts of the book is that people with less money get treated worse than people with more money, it literally explains how socs get excused to do bad things because they have more money.
Every time someone head cannons two-bit to have a dad bod an angel gains its wings.
The Outsiders was the first book that I read that didn't have a happy ending (It had a hopeful ending, but I wouldn't call it a happy ending) and liked it.
I love the idea that soda and darry think they're losing their brother after the events in the book, and that why darry snapped at ponyboy, because he is so worried he's gonna lose ponyboy on top of everyone else. Soda is trying very hard to keep ponyboy tethered to the real world, but it just isn't working.
The gang has all definitely gotten woken up from ponyboy having a nightmare, and it scared the shit out of them.
I need more fanfics with Ponyboy and the shepherds. I love all of the fanfics I have found, but it's not enough. Like there are so many possibilities to explore, at this point I might even write my own (i won't, I have tried to write fanfics many times but always forgetting, and being lazy, don't get your hopes up).
I'm still pissed about when Two-bit said that it could be anyone but Johnny, like damn, just rub salt in the wound, why don't ya. I know it wasn't really Two-bits fault, but it still just ticks me off.
Is this an outsiders reference? Probably not.
Am I saying it's an outsiders reference anyway? Yes. Yes, I am.
Rip Dallas Winston, you would have loved rage-bait.
If I see one more person judging ponyboy for reacting the way he did in the book, for any senero, I'm gonna lose my mind. Do I have to remind you that he is a FOURTEEN year old? That should be enough to justify how ponyboy reacted to most things. Like when I see the "I'm fourteen, I've been fourteen for a month" line, I see a lot of people saying that 'there are more important things to focus on', like he isn't a KID, who just when through something terrible. So many people judge him for how he reacts to stuff as if he isn't a traumatized kid. And even at the beginning of the book, he lost his parents and, in his eyes, lost his relationship with his brother. Therefore, he is still a traumatized kid.
I know it's ooc, but I can't be the only one who loves fics that make Johnny more confident. Like I know realistically, this will never happen, but I love it so much.
I'm aware that The Outsiders was not actually written by ponyboy, but it's so funny to think about. Just imagine giving your teacher the paper you wrote, getting a C (that might not be correct, idc), then finding out later that your teacher published that paper, and is now being used for the 7th graders learning. And just imagining the gang reading it.
Steve: What did i do to you?
Ponyboy: What are you talking about?
Steve: me and the rest of the gang read your book
Ponyboy:...
Ponyboy: You mean darry is reading my book?
Steve: yeah, I think so
Ponyboy, who knows what he wrote in the beginning, and also knows darry has to finish the book to know that ponyboy does not infact still think that: fuck.
Rip Ponyboy Curtis, you would have loved Kindle.
I love fanfics that have curly and ponyboy being best friends (especially after the events in the book) and soda hating curly with every fiber of his being. Like curly and ponyboy will just be talking, and walking in the DX and soda will mutter to steve that Curly is going to taint his baby brother, and steve just sighs, because he's already heard this rants so many times. The best part about these is that every time soda will admit (in his head) that he's glad ponyboy found another friend, then he'll chase curly with a broom.
Yall, knowing the head cannon that modern ponyboy would love fanfiction? Well, what if everything that happens in the outsiders happens, and ponyboy writes fics? Imagine the authors note.
Sorry i didn't post last week. Some dudes tried to drown me and hurt my best friend, so my best friend killed one of them. Then we were living in this abandoned church. But then the church burnt down, and we ran inside to save the little kids inside. Then he died, and after that, my other friend got himself killed. I was also sick and had a concussion. But anyway, here's the chapter!
I love fanfics that show dally caring for ponyboy, but I hate when they ignore Johnny. Don't get me wrong, I love the head cannon that dally loved ponyboy as much as he loved Johnny, but only when dally only released this when he's dying. And even then, dally still loves Johnny, and that is a huge part of his character. So when you just ignore that, you're ignoring a part of his character, and it annoys me so much.
