The doomies are when you get that unending pit of dread in your stomach thinking about something you said or did wrong in a social conversation, or the potential for doing so.
You can also get the doomies from thinking too long about climate change. Or the prison industrial complex. Or the criminalization of homelessness. Or capitalism and what it justifies.
The dooms are when your body vibrates with unease. There’s no more blood in your veins, just stress. You could liquefy, vaporize, explode, or crumble at any minute.
You can get the dooms from a seismic shift in your understanding of your reality. Realizing things will never be the same due to worsening disability. Suddenly feeling the brunt of systemic oppression in a way you haven’t before. Losing a significant chunk of your social or familial support suddenly.
