Spencer didn't want to go back inside. At least, not without him. "Unless you're going back inside."

"Are you staying longer? Should I take your keys to keep you off the road or keep you near me longer."

His thoughts interrupted by her stepping closer, if that was even possible at this point. She stretched as if to match his height; he shook his head. "No, I'm not driving either. I thought of staying... The party could go on for another four, five hours," his shoulders shrugged, "I think at this point, they're doing well without me..." He paused, producing his cellphone from his jacket's pocket, checking if he had any missed phone calls or unread text messages... Surprisingly, none. He pocketed the device, "I think I might head out," he fixed his eyes on her. "Do you want me to bring you back inside? Are you sure you want to stay and continue drinking?"

The noise above was escalating. "I don't think you should go back up there. It seems tense."

Hasun noticed that she giggled a lot whenever she responded to him. It was like she was sharing a secret that she found really amusing. His eyes squinted as a smile appeared on his lips. She continued to talk and he decided it was either she was tipsy or just extremely friendly. Most foreigners were, especially Americans. His assumption was confirmed when she shared her ex was back in the U.S. A lot of the natives would find it awkward and weird to be chatted up by a stranger. Hasun's used to it especially with the type of work that he does...

Once on the ground, he held her by the arm to make sure she was stable, the comment about him being as tall as tree stuck. He thought it was amusing, the comments she was making.

"Not a model but tall and strong. Security guard maybe?"

She was pulling her dress when she spoke, his eyes wandered. He stood there, listening as the commotion continued upstairs.

"Thank you for carrying me to safety, not model and not security guard. I owe you another answer. Not a talent manager. Just a stylist and sometimes designer."

"You're welcome and thank you for answering my question. But, ah..." He eyed the woman, "I think you're a bit drunk... Can you stand straight or?" He kept his hold on her, then responded to her concern about him going back upstairs.

"Why did you put it out?" Spencer was legitimately curious and hoped he hadn't done so for her benefit. The cough was due more so to the unexpected introduction of smoke and not about any annoyance or irritation with the smoke's presence. "I'm fine. I can also go back inside so you can enjoy your smoke alone and maybe even the fresh air." The smile that accompanied her words was wide and the giggle soft. It was then that she realized he'd asked her a question that she'd neglected to answer. "I wouldn't call it escaping." It wasn't entirely. "This is my first party since moving here." She started to rattle on about work and Nisa but decided against it. "There was also one guest I'm avoiding." The one guest who seemed to have more than two arms and hands, along with a special talent for finding her alone.

The follow up question led her to place the glass on a near by empty tray. If she wasn't chilly, it was because she'd had a little too much to drink. "I think I'm fine for now." She wasn't sure why he'd asked. Had he planned to provide his jacket? After placing her glass on the tray, Spencer had a better view of the stranger's face, thanks to the light filtering from inside. Hasun shrugged his shoulders, "I'm not a big smoker. It's just a habit after drinking a bit much," he admitted, assuring the woman it wasn't a bit deal whether he finished his cigarette or not. "No need to leave. You were here first, I think," he continued, once again leaning on the railing, but his head slightly turned to her so he witnessed the slight wobble in her steps when she approached.

"I wouldn't call it escaping. This is my first party since moving here. There was also one guest I'm avoiding."

"Oh?" He reacted when she finally responded to his question about escaping the party herself. "And who is it you're avoiding?" His eyes quickly glanced to the on-going party inside as if he'd catch whoever it was she was trying to hide from. "Ex-boyfriend? An admirer?" He threw out the usual suspects but was more invested in her placing a hand on his arm. He didn't understand what she was doing at first until she stepped down. He turned to the woman with a frown, reaching to hold her by the upper arm, "Lets - get out of here," was his first thought, sliding his hand to her wrist as he tried to get them away from the arguing crowd. He was one of the organizers, he should stay and take care of the problem but thought he'd get her - another guest - to safety then come back. His mind changed when he saw two of their biggest security, followed by Hajun himself, approaching the deck. He guided them to the end of the deck where there were stairs they could use to go down to the parking lot.

The fight that broke out got louder as they descended the stairs.

"Be careful," he warned, as he stepped down, realizing she wasn't wearing her shoes. He stopped on the one step and waited for her before picking her up with a, "Mianheyo," and carried her as if she weighed nothing, all the way down.

"I figured it would be quicker to just carry you," he explained once he was putting her down, hoping he didn't offend the guest too much.

It had already been a long night. A fun night and an even more enjoyable day. This was Spencer's element, one she didn't think she'd be able to capture once she moved to an entirely new country to rebuild her life. She wasn't unfamiliar with the culture or even some of the inherent traditions. After all the significant other, the ex significant other she'd been escaping was a first generation US citizen with parents deeply versed in the life and ways of South Korea. Maybe this wouldn't be the rebuild that she needed. Taking a deep breath, she stared at the lights reflecting on the water. She missed her son. She was excited for what would come in the new year, especially when he made the trip to finally join his mom.

The life she was building her brought her excitement and hope. She also had more creative freedom which allowed her to dream more and even believe that her dreams could become reality. The tickle in the back of her throat had interrupted her thought. The cough that followed due to the smoke now wafting through the air was a sign that she was no longer alone.

The apology quickly registered with her ears. She quickly responded, "Aniyo, gwaenchanseumnida," with a wave of her hand. "Why are you escaping the party?"

"Just needed fresh air," he responded, thinking how ironic it was when moments ago, he was inhaling smoke from a cigarette. He stayed where he was, now leaning over the deck railing, arms resting on them. He still wasn't able to see clearly the face of the woman he was speaking to.

"Are you escaping the party?" His eyebrow raised, eyeing the glass the other held in hand when the night breeze decided to blow their way. He felt shivers turning to check on her. "Are you cold?" He still kept his distance but realized he was wearing his jacket and wasn't sure how much layered clothing she had on...

The party had been going on for the last two hours. Everyone seemed to be having fun; the food kept coming, the drinks kept flowing... Hasun knew it could go on for quite a while especially with how everyone was drinking. He'd had a few drinks himself and had to step out to the back deck, a space overlooking the ocean to have a quick smoke. He wasn't a big smoker but after a few drinks, he craved nicotine. He called his in-laws about an hour ago to check on his son, Ha-yun who they said was already sleeping. He didn't like working on the weekends and never liked traveling for work even when his wife was alive... He thought of her as he lit the cigarette he'd pulled out of his pack, taking a light hit from it before noticing he wasn't alone. He turned his head to the side to see a figure facing the water as well.

"Joesonghamnida," his voice was deep, apologizing for not noticing the company. "I didn't see you there..." He spoke in Korean, not clearly seeing the face or identity of the person on the other end of the deck. He then looked at the cigarette he'd just lit and then back to the person, "Is this gonna bother you?" He asked, holding his cigerette between his fingers...
