Day 30: Why Do You Love BNHA - 「 My 07 Reasons To Love Boku no Hero Academia ♥ 」
Mission: accomplished! Well, for today that is…
Sawamura’s honesty here is almost like a confession. That his main goal in coming to Seido was to pitch to Miyuki and now that he’s here, no matter how much time and effort it takes, he will get Miyuki is recognise him as a pitcher with ability! Jokes on him though because Miyuki can already see the potential he has and has already starting working on drawing that potential out. And nothing is better than seeing that satisfied/proud smile on Miyuki’s face when he gets to see his boy shine!
“never forget who you want to become!”
Happy Birthday to the most precious, Annie bby ♡♡
Southpaw Meijun.

“I’ll get to that one number someday…”
One very concerned husband coming through.
“Your team’s gonna have all these amazing guys, right? That alone makes me itch to fight you all that much more”
“Well, ain’t ya cool... but don’t come crying to me when you regret the choice you’ve made”

For @manganimae (because mae loves misawa ♡) — sorry for this late gift, though this is not an actual secret santa gift, but an appreciation one for the pinch hit (gift) that you’ve made and done for @fydaiyanoace in the secret santa event, and in behalf of my partner admin, we are very grateful and thankful from the bottom of our hearts ♡ i hope you like this! thank you again!!
So let’s talk about the most recent chapter. Fair warning. This is half fact, half imagination. And a bit of screeching about Misawa.
The Growth of Sawamura Eijun
Can we talk about Sawamura’s quick recovery after his not so stellar performance in his first game as Seido’s ace. The team was also worried that he would be feeling down but it’s like he bounces back faster each time he comes face to face with an obstacle. He’s already focused on overcoming his mistakes. His growth truly makes me proud.
When the coach tells Sawamura that he’ll most likely have to pitch in more dire situations and that he should learn from this experience, I think it was something meaningful for Sawamura who has always craved that level of trust from his coach and his team.
(Also, the parallel between Coach Kataoka and Sawamura’s first game as ace! The making of a National level pitcher)
Miyuki trying to *comfort* Sawamura in his own trademark Miyuki Kazuya way.
Well comfort is a strong word for this but I did appreciate how Miyuki was basically saying that in Sawamura’s situation, it was almost expected that he would act like that. Opening game as the ace. It was a situation that only Sawamura would face and maybe Miyuki was silently implying that they don’t think it was Sawamura’s fault.
(It wouldn’t kill you to just say it to him straight Miyuki but oh well hahaha)
Okumura asking Miyuki for more Sawamura advice.
Ok. So as we’ve seen in previous chapters, it seems like Okumura is making an effort to understand Seido’s pitchers especially Sawamura. We’ve seen him ask Miyuki to explain the ‘Numbers’ and learn more about Sawamura in general. We see a similar situation in this chapter. Okumura asks Miyuki about what he says to Sawamura on the mound that made him regain focus (at least a little). Miyuki doesn’t think that he did anything at all and obviously blames himself for getting Sawamura pulled out of the game. Judging by this face, it looks like he doesn’t want to talk about it at all.
At first, Miyuki goes on about cutting off a player when he’s not performing well for the team. It’s cruel but it’s a tournament wherein one loss means the end. He knows that. They know that all too well. The Miyuki who says these words is that strategic, calculating, and level-headed Captain/Catcher of Seido. He knows it was the right call to pull Sawamura out of the game. I guess what has him frustrated is that he couldn’t do anything for him. If only they had scored more runs early on, if only he had done more research, if only, if only…
I guess that when Sawamura got pulled out, Miyuki and the rest of the team had a renewed sense of determination. They had to win.
“The team helps their ace grow. The ace makes his team strong.”
And if Miyuki couldn’t do anything for Sawamura with his calls and his mitt, he would pay him back with his bat (cue Captain’s cannon). Not only because they were aiming for Nationals but also for Sawamura to get another chance to stand on the mound and prove himself. To prove that he deserves that ace number on his back. To prove that Seido’s greatest main battery is a force to be reckoned with.
I think the Miyuki here not only sees himself as someone supposed to lead the team as Seido’s Captain/Clean-up. He’s speaking here as Sawamura’s partner. The other half of the battery. And he feels frustrated because he wasn’t able to make Sawamura shine. He wants another chance. A chance at redemption. And the next time he and Sawamura take the field, they’ll win. And they’ll do it as partners.
Seido’s greatest battery is preparing for a comeback and you all better be ready!
P. S. Honestly, Miyuki talks about Sawamura to everyone but he doesn’t talk to Sawamura. Come on Terajima! Let the boys have decent communication.
