For more than two years I’ve written stories for this blog, and I have enjoyed the creative outlet it has afforded me. I love finding a photo that inspires me and then seeing where it takes me, a story coming to life in the process.

Recently, I’ve become more and more frustrated with the way in which Tumblr flags and deletes photos. Whenever a photo that I’ve paired with a story gets pulled by Tumblr, my story goes with it. Today, a blog that I often relied on for inspiring photos was “zapped” by Tumblr, and along with it went at least twenty or thirty of my past stories. Poof. Gone.

I try to work with blogs and photos that comply with Tumblr’s guidelines, but it doesn’t seem to matter. No matter what, nearly half of my work disappears from my blog arbitrarily on a routine basis. This blog is not my job. It is merely a hobby. I spend an average of two to four hours on each story, and it is disheartening to watch as my work is destroyed.

With all that said, I’m taking a break from adding new material to the blog. It makes me sad, as I loved sharing my stories with this community. Maybe I’ll feel the urge to return at some point, but for now I’ll say goodbye. Thank you for following me and reading my work for the past two years.
