SM is known to hold onto their artists during their scandals for as long as possible so for Taeil to be immediately kicked out of the group following the reports of him being involved in a horrible crime, the consequences must be very severe. while we don’t know the details of the crime, we could imagine they’re very extreme.

as a nctzen since 2016, I was disappointed and repulsed by the news of Taeil being involved in such crimes. I considered NCT my safe space and my form of escapism from reality for 8 years not knowing that one of the members was involved in crimes that harm women. never in my wildest dreams did I ever think an NCT member would be linked to a crime that harms their target demographic. it truly disgusts me thinking about how deeply involved he was in for him to be investigated by the police.

I hope fans who read this do not defend Taeil. he is a grown man who made the decision to be involved in a crime so horrific, I cannot and will never understand the people who would go out of their way to defend him. he needs to face the consequences for his crimes. victims of sx crimes have to live with the pain and trauma for the rest of their lives while perpetrators continue harming others. defending him just tells me you condone such behaviour, normalising the harm and ab*se of women. that needed to stop a long time ago and it needs to stop now.

men who involve themselves in sx crimes are one of the reasons why the world is a dangerous place for women. men like this are the reason we are afraid of men. men like this should not be able to walk freely and continue the cycle of harming others. men time and time again have proven that they’re trash.

please believe the victims. I hope they get all the justice they deserve and I hope they know we are here to support them.

after everything that has happened over the past few days, i did some thinking and will be making this decision for myself.

i will be going on an extended hiatus until further notice. i don't feel comfortable to be posting or writing about kpop idols at the moment and want to take this time to respect the victim and her family. it feels inappropriate to be writing about idols with the recent events regarding taeil and nth room.

initially, i didn't want to make a post on here regarding the recent events in the kpop world as i already spoke about it on my instagram, however, i feel that it is needed considering how severe the situation is.

regarding the specific issues with taeil, the news was really jarring considering nct is my ult. i like to believe that an individual is truly good until proven otherwise and he has really shown that he is a despicable human. the crimes he committed are revolting. my heart goes out to the vicitim and her family and i hope that the proper punishment will be brought upon him.

i don't want to hear anyone defending him or making any excuses. and while we are on that topic, we have no rights to drag down other idols into a problem that does not involve them. please respect the other members and do not loop them into what taeil did just because he was part of their group. this is more than just kpop. this is about human rights and women’s rights.

please remember, we are humans before we are fans. fame does not give a person the right to harm others in any way shape or form.

Dami felt absolutely sick to her stomach that morning. The apartment was quiet, which told her that the members had already left for their schedules. A schedule that Dami should have also gone to but quickly found herself too bedridden to do anything.

Dami groaned as her head gave a painful throb and rolled onto her stomach. Her hands weakly grabbed at her phone on the nightstand and pulled it close to her face. The blinding light from her phone stung her eyes as she checked the time. 

11:38 am.

According to her phone, she had missed multiple calls and texts from her manager and members. Most asked her if she was alright and let her know when they would be home from their schedules. 

Dami opened her messages with her manager and squinted hard to try and read the blurring message. The message asked if she was well enough to come into the company to discuss her possible return to activities but Dami highly doubted she would be able to make it in. 

It was unlikely Dami would even make it to the bathroom considering every movement she took made her spin violently.

Dropping her phone beside her, Dami reached for the small little orange bottle on her nightstand. However, the empty feeling in the bottle only made Dami realize how screwed she really was.

“Shit,” she swore. Dami weakly tossed the empty bottle across the room in frustration. She picked up her phone again and dialed Jiyoung’s number.

“Hello?” Jiyoung’s voice replied after a few rings, “I’m guessing you just woke up,” her teasing voice was endearing but Dami couldn’t be bothered to tease Jiyong back like she usually did.

“I feel like I’m dying,” Dami groaned. “I’m out of medicine,”

“Oh no,” Jiyoung winced, “I just ran out the other day as well. I haven’t had a chance to go pick up a new prescription.”

“Shit,” Dami’s voice came out breathy and in pain. She closed her eyes tightly as her head gave a violent spin, threatening to make Dami pass out.

“I’ll pick up some more on my way home today, but I don’t finish my schedule until 6. I’m so sorry,” Jiyoung sounded genuinely apologetic, and Dami knew she was as well. Jiyoung hated it whenever Dami had her symptoms.

Despite being an idol, Jiyoung rarely had to take soulmate pills. Jiyoung’s soulmate was an idol but even still she and her soulmate saw each other at least once a week unless it was during promotional periods for either one of them. Even then, the company made sure that the two saw each other at least by the end of the two-week period so they didn’t feel the symptoms of soulmate separation.

Heeyoung was the same way. Even though Dami knew that Heeyoung and her soulmate had their own set of problems, they still made time for each other so that they didn’t suffer through soulmate separation.

Dami didn’t know how she bonded with her soulmate. That itself presented more problems than one. On top of that, in the week leading up to Dami’s onset of soulmate separation symptoms, the group had just finished up their promotion for their most recent comeback and Dami had met so many fans during fan signs that it would be nearly impossible to find her soulmate.

Dami had been on hiatus for about two weeks now, she was supposed to return to her schedules and work next week. Despite being told by the hospital and doctors that as long as she took her soulmate pills every day she would be alright, Dami still found that she would feel random pains across her body or feel exhausted to the point where she felt like collapsing.

“It’s alright,” Dami replied to Jiyoung over the phone, “I’m going to call Heeyoung,”

“Feel better, Dami!” Jiyoung tried to encourage, though both Jiyoung and Dami knew that the only cure to soulmate separation was either taking the soulmate medication or finding your soulmate.

Dami hung up on Jiyoung and quickly dialed Heeyoung’s number. After explaining her situation, Heeyoung was quiet. “Dami, I took my medication with me this morning,” Heeyoung said, an apologetic tone in her voice already, “I’m at work right now, but I promise I’ll bring it to you during my break,”

Dami mumbled that it was alright and quickly hung up. She rolled on her back and groaned. Her whole body felt stiff and sore as she tried to shift herself out of bed. 

There was no way Dami could wait until either of them got back home. She felt like she was going to die if she waited for that long. Barely managing to pull herself to her feet, Dami stared at herself in her mirror for a moment taking in her appearance.

She looked as though someone had run her over with a car, and then put the car in reverse, and backed into her again. Dami’s eyes looked sunken and her hair was standing up in a nest of knots.

Dami gently splashed water on her face before throwing her hair up into a bun. It didn’t help much considering the fact that she looked sickly and pale, but it was enough for Dami to wake her up enough to get dressed and head out.

She grabbed a mask before she stepped outside of her apartment. A chill went through her body the moment she stepped outside and Dami debated going back to bed and just waiting for Jiyoung or Heeyoung to come home with medicine. She stood in her doorway for a moment before she sighed.

Her symptoms were already really bad. Dami suspected that she was also running a fever as well. It wasn’t a good idea to leave her apartment to get medicine, but it was just as bad of an idea to stay home without anything to treat it. Moving slowly down the hall, Dami gently pulled up her mask before clicking on the button for the elevator.

When it finally got there the person inside looked up from their phone and Dami nodded hello to him before stepping into the elevator. Dami leaned back on the elevator and let out a long sigh, her body felt weak as she tried to focus on what floor they were passing. 

The way to the pharmacy was worse than Dami expected. 

The walk itself was bad due to the cold fall weather, but the bus ride was worse. The weird-colored lights inside the bus and the bumpy road only made Dami feel sicker than she actually was. 

Dami had a mask on, as well as a cap, and her winter jacket tightly around her with the hood pulled over her head, but she still felt a chill go through her body wherever the bus sped up from a stop. The bus was relatively empty but of the people on the bus, they didn’t seem to recognize the girl at all, which Dami was thankful for.

When Dami stepped into the pharmacy, the pharmacist looked up to see who was approaching her. A bright smile appeared on her face when she recognized Dami.

“What brings you here?” Haeun smiled brightly at Dami, “You don’t usually show up without Minhee,”

Haeun was a friend of Dami’s manager, Kim Minhee. They had gone to college together, and because of that most of the idols in XXX Group came to see her whenever they needed medicine.

“I ran out of my soulmate pills,” Dami sighed, “I haven’t told my manager yet,”

Haeun’s smile slowly disappeared from her face, “You haven’t found your soulmate yet?”

Dami shook her head, “It’s been literally impossible,” She leaned on the front desk area, holding her head in her hands, “Every time I forget to take my soulmate pills the symptoms get worse and worse. Sometimes it seemed like even when I take them I still feel sick,”

Haeun frowned and gently patted Dami on the head, “Go sit, you look like you could collapse any moment. I’ll go get you your medication,”

Dami groaned as she pulled herself to stand up straight again. Her head felt like it was going to explode and her body felt heavy. Whenever her skin touched something, a sensitive uncomfortable feeling would take over that spot on her body. And despite the obvious burning of her skin, her body was shaking from the cold.

Dami rubbed her eyes gently and turned to head toward the small seating area. As she did, her eyes fell onto a figure headed her way. Her eyes widened a fraction and she quickly moved to sit in the waiting area. She pulled her hood over her head and tried to hide behind her mask as the person went up to the front desk. Despite the mask that he wore, Dami could recognize his slender eyes anywhere.

“Good morning,” Haeun addressed the person. “What can I do for you today?”

“I’m here to pick up a prescription,” the person replied, his voice low and slightly strained.

“Sure thing. Let me just finish up with the last customer and I’ll be right with you,” Haeun turned to head to the back and the person made his way toward the waiting area.

Dami cursed silently under her breath as he took a seat just a few seats away from her. She tried to keep her face buried in her phone as much as possible in hopes that the person wouldn’t be able to recognize her.

It seemed as though his presence only seemed to make Dami feel even worse. Her headache seemed like it was ten times more powerful and her stomach twisted uncomfortably.

Glancing at the person, Dami could see that he wore a white mask and had his face tilted toward his phone. A bag full of cough syrup hung around his wrist as he scrolled through his phone. Like her, he was bundled up in a winter jacket. His white bleached hair peeked out from under his cap and upon feeling her gaze on him, he turned to look at her.

Dami quickly averted her gaze and looked down at her phone. The bright light from her phone caused her vision to unfocus and blur but she didn’t know what else to look at. Of all the people in the entire world Dami could have run into it was him. She tried her hardest to not make eye contact with him, praying that he would do the same.

“I’m sorry, have we met before?”

His voice caught Dami off guard but she didn’t let it show. She looked up at him and he stared back at her, his eyes trying to scan what little of her face was exposed. Dami slowly turned her gaze back down to her phone, trying to seem disinterested in the person.

“I’m sorry, I think you have the wrong person,” Dami tried to play off.

“Oh,” the person replied. “My bad,”

He still seemed persistent in trying to speak with Dami and it set her on edge a bit. His eyes jumped back and forth between his phone and her. Dami had to suppress the urge to pull her hood down further.

“Ahn Dami?” His voice made Dami flinch.

“What?” Dami asked him and it was obvious by her tone that she was confused. She was sure that he wouldn’t have been able to recognize her but hearing her name come out of his mouth threw her for a loop.

Her confused response had obviously caught the person off guard. He hesitated and the look in his eyes was less confident than before. He quickly averted his gaze and Dami gently let out the breath she had been holding.

“Ah, I’m sorry,” the person said yet again, this time obviously embarrassed that he had asked twice if they knew each other, ”I don’t know why but you remind me of someone I knew in middle school,”

“Dami!” Haeun called from behind the counter, “I have your medicine!”

Dami’s eyes widened a fraction and she found her eyes drifting to the person sitting next to her. It was obvious by the way he stared at her that he was smirking and Dami wanted nothing more than to smack it straight off his face.

Ignoring him as best as she could, Dami quickly grabbed her medicine from Haeun and rushed to leave the pharmacy. As she left she heard the person and Haeun speaking but she had no intention of slowing down for him to catch up to her.

Dami rushed to the snack aisle and grabbed herself a bag of chips and then a bottle of water from the coolers along the wall. She had every intention of sprinting out of the pharmacy and never seeing him again.

The cashier seemed to be moving at an obscenely slow pace. Dami noticed the small ‘in training’ sign under the person’s name tag and she took a deep breath. The breath sent a jolt of pain through Dami and she quickly held back her groan.

“Here’s your receipt,” the cashier passed Dami the slip of paper but Dami completely ignored it as she scooped up her things and rushed for the door.

Once outside, Dami finally felt like she could breathe a little. She had debated going back to her apartment first before taking her medicine but as she started to make her way to the bus stop, her head spun threateningly.

Dami glanced down at her medicine and sighed. Ultimately, she made her way to a small bench along the side of the building. The winter air was cold enough to make Dami want to head back inside the store but she didn’t want to risk running into the person from before. 

As much as she wanted to rush away from the situation, Dami could feel the adrenaline leaving her and she felt nauseous.

Ripping open her medication, Dami popped one of the pills in her mouth and chugged it down with water. She sighed and leaned her head back against the wall. Dami closed her eyes for a moment and let the sun turn the undersides of her eyes into a brilliant bright orange. Just as she did, a shadow crossed over her and blocked the run from her face.

Dami slowly opened her eyes and openly groaned.

“So it is you,” the person said.

“Can you just leave me alone, Jaemin?” Dami sighed, having no energy to argue with him.

“Still as rude as ever I see,” Jaemin pulled his mask down. His expression was blank and guarded as he looked down at her.

Dami made a face, “You haven’t changed one bit either,” Dami got to her feet as she moved past Jaemin to leave.

“Don’t you think you’re being rude?” Jaemin asked as he turned so that he was still facing Dami.

“To you?” Dami asked over her shoulder. Stopping to face Jaemin, Dami’s eyes looked him up and down. “No, not one bit,”

It had been a while since Dami last had a conversation with Jaemin. As idols, they occasionally saw each other in passing at music shows and award shows, but otherwise, Dami tried to steer clear. 

Jaemin was similar. He disliked Dami just as much as she did toward him, if not more. 

It was for this reason that Jaemin wasn’t sure why he had stopped to talk to Dami. On a normal day, Jaemin would have probably just let her leave. But the longer he looked at her, the more he felt like he should stay by her side. 

As if shocked by himself, Jaemin’s eyes flickered away and he scoffed. “You know what never mind,” Jaemin shoved his hands in his pockets, “Let’s pretend we didn’t run into each other today,”

Dami raised her eyebrows in disbelief as Jaemin turned to leave, as though he hadn’t been the one to stop her in the first place. “Weirdo,” Dami mumbled under her breath as she was unable to think of any other way to describe Jaemin’s behavior.

As Dami headed back to her apartment building, she took a deep breath relishing the fact that her soulmate symptoms had subsided. But despite that, her mind kept drifting back to Jaemin. The feeling of distaste bubbled up inside her as she hoped that she would never have to run into him again. 

And that the startling feeling of longing that came with the image of his face would disappear completely.

[ SO HIGH SCHOOL ] when it comes to mark i feel like the concept of a giggly, high school romance is something that would fit him perfectly. if i was a delusional mark stan i would say that mark gives high school crush, he's everyone's friend and is overall a very kind and bright person. he would be the type of boy that all the guys would want to be friends with and all the girls would have a crush on. but because of this, he would also be a bit oblivious to oc's obvious crush on him. he would make silly mistakes and be the slowest person to realize that oc has a crush on him until she finally tells him. only then would he start to pay more attention to her and slowly fall for her.

[ THE ALBATROSS ] this song makes me so emotional and to think of this song with renjun really makes my heart hurt. the concept of falling in love with someone that everyone is telling you that will hurt you but the reality is the opposite. renjun seems like the type of person to fall for someone and love them unconditionally, however those around him warn him about getting into a relationship. they'll say that him being in a relationship will ruin him and his reputation. renjun would fall for oc and oc would love him just as much as he loves her, but the public disapproves of their relationship warning renjun and telling renjun that he should break up with her. but oc tells renjun that she will protect him and that she will always be there for him, even if the public doesn't like their relationship, she is willing to put up with the hate so that they can be together.

[ THE ALCHEMY ] jeno is just so the alchemy coded, the concept of a love that only happens once in a life time and two people forming new memories and love together. jeno and oc would be one of those perfect couples that while they may have arguments here and there, they are able to work through it together. they are the image of a perfect healthy relationship. they are the champions of the world because they are together. not to mention taylor's line "where's the trophy? he just comes running over to me," just seems like a very jeno coded song. he would win an amazing award at a music show but the moment he gets off stage, he doesn't rush to take a photo with the trophy but instead runs to oc and embraces her.

[ IMGONNAGETYOUBACK ] you can't even argue with me about this song because it's just so haechan coded. in this song, the narrator is singing about their ex and how they are going to get them back. however, the double meaning behind this song makes it obvious that the narrator is confused about what she wants to do to her ex. she's fighting between wanting to get back together with her ex and loving him, or if she should get revenge on him for hurting her heart. in this instance, the narrator and haechan had an amazing healthy relationship, but a series of mistakes led the two to break up with both of them ending on bad terms with one another. i can imagine a second-chance romance with a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers trope. there would be high tension between the two as they try to force themselves to hate one another but secretly they still like one another and eventually after some pushing from their friends, they are able to talk things out and be together again.

[ DOWN BAD ] do i need to say anymore? the lyrics themselves scream jaemin. from crying in the gym to longing for the lost relationship, i feel like for jaemin, this would be another one of those relationships that ended abruptly due to some sort of misunderstanding. in this case, the misunderstanding came from oc and her inability to talk it out problems with jaemin. additionally, letting his emotions get the better of him, jaemin and oc wouldn't be able to talk out their misunderstanding and he would leave her to protect himself from further heartbreak and distress. but now the oc is torn due to her mistake and inability to communicate with jaemin. she's singing about how she's still in love with him but is lost in how to approach him and fix their broken relationship.

[ I LOOK IN PEOPLE'S WINDOWS ] with chenle i feel like this is the type of relationship that ended quietly. there was no crazy fight or misunderstanding but there's still a loss between the two. after they break up, there's a odd sense of emptiness that the narrator is trying to fill. the lyrics depict a narrator who had a minor yer also significant personal loss. she finds herself obsessively looking into the windows of houses in hopes of catching a glimpse of chenle. additionally, seeing chenle online and seeing his performances, she finds herself longing and seeking him out more. despite having broken up with one another on good terms, there's still a desire to understand where their relationship went wrong and to reconnect with one another to try and bring back the love that they lost.

[ FRESH OUT THE SLAMMER ] this song refers to the narrator breaking out of a relationship that she feels jailed in. however, the narrator is still reliving parts of the relationship that she misses and yearns for. i feel like with this song, jisung and the oc are in a healthy relationship until they become public. once the public eye catches wind of their relationship everything changes and now the relationship seems to be holding the oc hostage. everything that they would do would be publicised, and the oc hates that. however, the second message in the song saying "now pretty baby, im running home to you", rather than applying it to a second relationship as many swifties have in terms of joe and matty, i like to think of this as the oc runs to jisung for consolation. she's trying to escape the public eye ("the slammer") by running to jisung ("home") because he is always there to comfort her and support her. despite the pressure from the public, she doesn't want to ruin her relationship with jisung and instead she would rather push through the bad parts so that she can remain with him and cherish their relationship.

[ friends to lovers, everyone knows but them ] i honestly find yangyang's a bit hard to think of since yangyang has said himself he wants to feel his heart flutter every day when he's in a relationship. but i think im going to take that in a bit of a different way. yangyang is like the person that you immediately click with, but it starts off as strictly a friendship. you two spend a lot of one on one time together and just get to know each other better as friends. you're both cut from the same cloth, always bubbly and excited whenever you're with each other. ten considers you "two peas in a pod" and has "never seen two people match each other’s energy perfectly". he'll often says things like “they’re both still young” to make it seem like he’s much older than them when he really isn’t. because of how close you two are people start to ask if you guys are dating but you both continue to deny it. eventually though, yangyang confesses that he developed feelings for you. i think when yangyang falls in love, he feels butterflies every time he sees you. whether it be sometimes small, like you wore your hair differently, or you wore glasses instead of contacts, his heart would flutter at everything you did. in a relationship, yangyang is the type of boyfriend who always supports you. no matter what your choices are, he will support you, but also try and add some helpful insight as well never imposing his opinion on you or invalidating you. he would match your energy perfectly in every way and would be like a best friend. but he can also act cute or do aegyo randomly, and sometimes you will play along with him being cute and tease him, but most of the time, you just stare at him and judge him since you can't even think of a response.

[ she falls first, he falls harder ] i feel like chenle is the type of person who isn't initially relationship-oriented. he seems very go with the flow and isn't the type of person to actively search out a relationship. no matter what point in life he is, for the most part, completely content with how things are. i feel like chenle wouldn't be the type of person to fall first in most cases. chenle would be the kind of person to just hang out whenever with you in a big group, and he wouldn't notice much about it. it would first start as the two friend groups joined together and slowly hung out more and more (like mall trips, dinners, and karaoke). and through that chenle would slowly get to know you more. you would slowly try and be closer to chenle than the others, and eventually, he would fall for you. when he falls for you, though, he puts everything into a relationship. he's very secure with himself and thus would also want to feel secure in his relationship. he would always make time to spend with you, and unless he was busy, he would put you first. he would be the type of boyfriend to be protective of you, but also know that you can handle yourself. if you were to get into an argument with someone, he would step in if he thought you needed help; otherwise, he would keep a close eye and watch for any signs that you might be struggling in an argument. chenle would also be the type to try and spoil you; he wouldn't let you pay for food, and he would always try to win prizes at the arcade for you or for holidays and anniversaries. He would be very thoughtful and careful with the gifts he chose.

[ study partners ] i feel like with jeno he would be like the quiet crush that you have on the guy in your major. you would be around the same age, and both of you are very academically driven. it would start off that you guys are in the same class together, and you wouldn't really think much about one another. there isn't any immediate attraction to one another, and life kinda just goes on. then, when you go to science lab, you are assigned to be in the same science lab group for that semester, and you slowly get to know him better. he's generally sweet to everyone, so his kind behavior just brushes off you because you think that he is just nice to everyone, but when in secret, he goes out of his way to be extra nice to you. when you aren't paying attention, he will make sure that any dangerous objects are away from you or you won't trip over a stool. eventually, the two of you became friends and spent time with each other outside of class to study for exams. you two end up spending a lot of time together that people think that you are dating. despite that, you guys still aren't dating even though everyone thinks you should be. dating jeno would be the type of boyfriend to give back hugs and lazily play with your fingers. he wouldn't be openly pda, but he would have fleeting touches with you to let you know that he's there. he would be the type of boyfriend to be proud to be dating you and would be caught staring at you from afar. he would be protective but also know that you can take care of yourself. jeno's not one for words and instead would show his affection by his body language.

[ rivals/dislike to lovers ] genuinely i don't know much about sunwoo but i feel very strongly that he would be a one-sided love, he falls first she falls harder, enemies to lovers trope. you would meet him one random day somehow and he just keeps popping into your life. he's the kind of person who seems to enjoy bothering you because he thinks you look cute when you're annoyed. sunwoo would tease you just to get a reaction and he would be shameless about it as well. he wouldn't hide his smile when he gets the reaction he wants out of you, and he would even go as far as to comment that your face is red with anger or that you're pouting or making an angry face just to piss you off even more. but he also knows his limits; despite all his teasing, he would do what he could to take care of you. if you were thirsty, he would pass you water, and if you were holding too many things, he would help you, but not without a snide remark to try and hide his feelings. sunwoo would probably fall first and try to use his teasing to hide his feelings. he would admit that he doesn't hate you and just enjoys annoying you. but then he would start to act nicer and tease you less because he's started to realize his feelings were so much more than what he expected. sunwoo was a boyfriend would be very chill. he knows his limits with pda but he also he likes to hold onto your hand and cling to you, but this isn't anything new to everyone. he does pda, but not the annoying kind that makes people uncomfortable; it's the casual kinda, like holding hands, and sitting close to each other. he loves to flirt with you, but most of the time, you just make a face and judge him. the one time you flirt back, he malfunctions and doesn't know what to do.

[ DON'T BLAME ME ] i feel like mark is the type of person to have unconditional love. "don't blame me" is a song about unapologetic love and uses a mix of addition and religion to emphasize how this love has driven the person to extreme lengths. i feel like for mark even though he is a religious person when he loves someone, he will do so unconditionally, even to the point where the person comes before his own religion, because he cares and loves for this person more than anything.

🤍 — HUANG RENJUN ! !

[ DANCING WITH OUR HANDS TIED ] something compels me to put renjun and "dancing with our hands tied" together. im not sure what, but i have always associated renjun with the hesitant type of love. he is the type of person to be so in love but also scared of the public eye. he would want to keep his relationship a secret from the world to protect not just himself but also his significant other. "dancing with our hands tied" is a song that speaks about a relationship that feels lost due to outside pressure and, for some reason, i can see renjun either fighting for his relationship against the public or succumbing to the pressure and ending everything.

[ DELICATE ] this song is about confessing to the person you like and the beginning stages of a relationship. the person would have been so amoured by their relationship that they would be worried about bringing his significant other into the eye of the public and putting stress on them rather than the public opinion about himself. instead, jeno would focus entirely on making sure that the relationship was heading in the right direction. he would be worried about the public eye but not as much as his relationship. knowing his reputation as an idol, he would be scared to offend his significant other and would be scared about how the public would perceive her so he would do anything and everything in his power to protect their new relationship.

[ SO ITS GOES… ] i feel like so it goes is a bit of a dark mysterious song. the idea of meeting a person in the dark despite the fact that the two people are both famous. he's someone who can make everyone else disappear, and he helps her feel at ease. however, he is also someone that makes her feel excited and slightly caged. she looses herself in a relationship with him because of how strong her feelings are. i feel like in terms of haechan, he would be dominant in a relationship like this person, and he would continue to give and then take more than he's giving, but because of how he makes his partner feel she wouldn't leave him. so he will continue to take and take from her and only give her back minimally, just enough to keep her around, but he really cares more about his reputation than he could admit. so he will put his career before her.

[ GORGEOUS ] yeah yeah, a bit stereotypical. oh my god, na jaemin as "gorgeous", of he is. but let me explain. i feel like when it comes to jaemin this song really emphasizes how someone may feel when faced with feelings for him. jaemin is a very attractive person, for this reason alone he is already an intimidating person to catch feelings for. for this reason, i feel like "gorgeous" is the perfect song. gorgeous speaks from the female's point of view about how she has fallen for this guy who is just so gorgeous she doesn't know how to act. instead of complimenting him and hitting on him properly, she will make fun of him but still wants him to realize that it's actually a compliment. she can't quite control herself and she wants him to know that it's his fault. i feel like jaemin would be oblivious to this at first, but once he realizes all her teasing is due to his looks he would immediately become smirky and sly and tease her back.

[ KING OF MY HEART ] when it comes to chenle, he will almost always be fully committed to a relationship. i feel like chenle wouldn't go into a relationship knowing that he had hesitations and wasn't sure of his feelings. he would only commit himself to a relationship when he was certain about his feelings. but once he's tested the waters and finally realizes he loves his partner, he would fully commit, and it would be unexpected for him or take him off guard. once he realized he loved his partner, he wouldn't hide anything from her, all the bad and good aspects he would want to show her and he wouldn't want to ever let her go. he would prove that he loves his partner.

[ NEW YEARS DAY ] it was actually really hard for me to pick a song for jisung. but i eventually came to this one. "new years day" has such powerful lyrics that bring about a strong feeling of loyalty and connection. i feel like with jisung once he has fallen in love he will never let go, he will hold onto all the memories that he's had with his significant other and cherish them with all his heart. the idea of the song is that the true lovers would stay with you and help you pick up trash after a messy party. i like to think of this as like even in tough messy times, jisung will always stay loyal to you and stay by yourself whether it's hard or there are mistakes made. he's loyal and committed, and it's a healthy, sweet relationship between jisung and his partner.

black! ngl, i have no reasoning behind this other than the fact that mark looks good in black. but black is also said to represent a strong-willed and determined character, someone who is not afraid to go after what they want and usually seeking power and prestige.

💛 — HUANG RENJUN ! !

yellow! not only is renjun's fav color yellow but i also feel like he radiates a warm aura whenever he smiles. yellow is said to be a color that represents creative, cheery and optimistic. renjun is always there for his friends and they all cling to him so dearly because of his bright nature. even when he's annoyed or frustrated at them he's so endearing toward them.

white! the color has a lot of meanings but honestly the idea of purity, freshness, and innocence is something that i associate with jeno. jeno is a simple guy and i think the simplicity and delicacy of his personality is what makes me associate him with white

brown! dark brown or an expresso brown!! not just because his emoji is a bear, but i think he tends to wear darker colors like dark brown or black and it's a refreshing contrast from his typically bright personality that we see from him as an idol. brown is also a color that's associated with health and nurturing and dependability which i think is 100% haechan.

pink! the color pink is associate with a loving, kind, and sensitive personality and often linked with a strong nurturing and sensual side. i think these are all jaemin. despite his sometimes cold side, he really does care for everyone around him. as an individual, even when he is tired and presents as cold and reserved, he still cares deeply for his friends and those around him.

green! chenle's was kind of hard for me to figure out. the color green is typically associated with someone who is a bit of a perfectionistic. they are analytical, conceptual, cool, and calm. and while chenle has an outgoing personality, we can see this calm and cool side of him during the times that are important and serious. he knows when to act a certain way and it presents a very mature aura around him.

💙 — PARK JISUNG ! !

blue! specifically shades of sky blue, like the dark and light shades of blue, but not ocean/aqua blues. i feel like just aesthetically jisung is a very blue person, the stereotypical association with blue is someone who is calm and collected and i think that jisung is overall a very calm person. he can be shy and get embarassed easily but it's all in a soft way. blue is usually associated with sympathetic and compassionate people who are sincere and idealistic and care a lot about their relationships with others.
