Hmmmm
Maria passed infront of the brightly glowing chamber. It was much like a cylinder closest of a tube, not just a light but able to draw on massive energy and certain liquids....
She thought liquids?
Converting energy and rush fluids into mass using ADAM generic memory.
Maria only had so much understanding to pull on from her reserves of genetic memories. Maybe she could find some ADAM from a Vita Chamber technician, or raid the Family's resurve of ADAM for understanding the exact science behind it. That in detail investigation would be for later though, for now she had enough knowledge to get the chamber working again, and it was just waiting time for the system to realize it needed to work and start to revive the person.
So the Big Sister lingered, waiting for the person to revive. Once they did fall out she would need to be quick, to waiting for the person to have some recovery time before drawing blood after they settled from the recovery.
She was not supposed to linger, but still Maria reflexively reached out and caught the person that fell out as she was walking back by. The Big Sister hesitated holding the human with one hand, trying not to tare cloths with the metal claws on her glove.
Did she know them? Maria tilted her head, bright glowing eyes reflected her confusion. Her helmet was in her other hand and for a moment she did not know what to do with the revived human.
i still honestly don’t understand why sinclair wears the whole get-up he wears yknow
like
the button-up shirt, the pinstripe slacks, the suspenders, the necktie, the wingtip shoes, the long cigarette holder
sir are you aware that Rapture’s society has completely deteriorated??
you carry a gun so obviously you know it’s dangerous in Rapture but you still wear your business outfit like it’s still 1958???
i understand Lamb wearing her casual clothes since she’s in no danger where she lives in Persephone. I understand Gracie wearing her casual clothes since she’s basically in charge of Pauper’s Drop and is thus also in no danger from the Splicers there. and obviously the Splicers themselves wear their old clothes because they’re delusional and half of them don’t seem to even realise what’s going on around them
but why the fuck does Sinclair wear his business duds when it has been basically post-apocalyptic in Rapture for like… a full decade now? He was kicked out of the Sinclair Delux at some point after the Rapture Civil War, and he wasn’t allowed back into Persephone to get to his escape raft, so obviously he isn’t on friendly terms with the Rapture Family, meaning he is in constant danger of being literally torn to shreds by Lamb’s Splicers, bur he doesn’t care. He actively gets himself involved in DEEPER shit by helping Tenenbaum before he even knew that Delta was alive and, thus, that he had a way out of Rapture.
actually, even more weird, why does Tenenbaum wear a skirt, a dress shirt, a cardigan, high heels, and reading glasses? she ESCAPED Rapture in Bioshock 1 and returned KNOWING the city was a hell-hole. I seriously do not understand her reasoning with those clothes? Even in Bioshock 1, when she’s been hiding in a sewer for like 2 years she still wears this nice, slightly-torn dress. I know she doesn’t do much fighting herself, but she runs around a lot and, as seen when she’s first introduced, has no issue killing her enemies, so why the impractical wardrobe? I’d say the same about Julie, Cohen, and Steinmann, but Steinmann and Cohen are completely insane and Julie is still working on the Lazarus Vector so she’s wearing her work clothes so that’s all understandable (and at the time she still worked for Ryan Industries and was thus protected). Ryan wearing his suit also made sense ‘cause he was literally in an impenetrable fortress of an office.
so Tenenbaum and Sinclair just really care about the drip, huh? not willing to be caught looking bad in practical clothes? they’re super fashion conscious??
fuck it i can respect that.

The room was lit mostly from the filtered outside light, but enough for the swimmer to peer in and get a clear look. A few lightbulbs were still clinging to a dim life, but the Zen Garden was mostly untouched still. A slight groove of an old guard path, and a signs of a struggle in one corner. It was from long ago now, though there was little that chanced but for some bodies that had mundified.
Maria drew on the plasma that flickered up to the surface, felt a pull and pop of a pressure change. She dropped down onto one of the big rocks, waiting a few moments to heal and adjust from the change, watching sea water sink inot the sand around them.
A shiver and shake to get water off, the Big Sister hopped to the ground and walked over to the Vita Chamber. Checking it over and making sure what she did outside to reconnect power. Content at first to just stand and left inherited memories stirring-
why did it look like someone was into he tube like closet of a smack–?
Maria reflexively reached out, catching the shorter human and gave a confused humming. Through she was not aggressive, she was not expecting to be holding a man.
“Buurrrt?“ the young woman half asked through the helmet.
The Big Sister shrugged as she walked closer, checking over her extractors and the anchored in rigging on her forearms. Taking the chance to just check her armor as some water still dripped off her tank. “Daddy and others fix. People damage, we hunt. Rapture is…in control of The Family. Mother.”
Maria came closer, poking the man but was not afraid of people like she once hand been long ago.
Fontaine watched as she checked and adjust the various her suit, wondering how many of those hulking brutes she killed to get that armor. “The family?…Father? The Mother? Listen, kid..you have to explain to me like I was born yesterday..because..well, I kinda missed a few chapters of the Rapture story. I-” He paused as Maria began poking his arm. “Kid? I’m flesh and blood as anyone around here..ya done pokin’ me?”
That last part had her snorting, "most everything is monster now. Splicers fallow Mother, she controls the The Family...the splicers. She made me, made the other Big Sisters, but we're learning. From ADAM,"
Maria twitched as she struggled with her mental conditioning, taking a few deep, calming breaths and thought about her words. The orange eyes sharping as her mind came back to focuse. "You've been dead for a long time. I remember seeing you in the dream world, and before. We killed you as the silver monster," she flashed a grin, as she was one of Rapture's nightmares now to. "The Family is the new cult."

It took a moment for Frank to come to semi-consciousness in the big sister’s arms, head hurting like someone hit him with a brick. Opening his eyes with a groan, he murmured. “That little fucker..and those damn brats. How long was I-” The conman paused, speechless about the appearance of the..creature..that was holding him. “What the hell are ya? Did Mother Goose create y-..?” He was cut off, gaze shifting to the now even more dilapidated building he was in. “For fuck’s sake..I was out for a long time, huh..? Barely recognize this damn city no more..” Fontaine managed to say before passing back out.
Mother Goose...?
The phrasing was confusing and only vaguely familiar. Maria shifted, hesitating as something tugged in her cloudy, hazy memories.
Maria snorted and shook her head, sighing a moment before picking up the man over one shoulder. The right one where there was a slight gap so he wouldn't hit her tank or basket. Walking to the clear area to telelport into the penthouse.
She put the unconscious man down while distracted by the aged but mostly intact place. Examining the books and other resources, thinking of how to get them away. Her boots were not as heavy as the bigger guardians, but still solid as she tried to walk quietly. Maria was able to find the papers she needed and removed her helmet to hide them in her diving suit when she heard sounds.
Bioluminescent orange eyes peered over to where the man was, stopping her humming.
"You were not supposed to be alive again." Maria noted, not threatening just puzzled in the young woman's metallic voice.

@nctalibxrator has found Maria!
There’s a set of glowing eyes peering around a corner high up at of normal reach.
She missed Arcadia, and in some ways missed Fort Frolic, though mostly from her past on the latter. Maria shook herself, walking slowly into the once farmers market, on the proper path as there was not very much in the way of high vailulted cielings to easily climb up. She hoped over a smaller log, bouncing a bit into the puddles from the watering system. But the young woman was on a mission, on the excuse for the Family, bit really wanting this for her secret place.
@combatheavy has found the Big Sister!
Not a hostile Maria but the young woman is sitting at the shoreline under a dock. Looking a bit sick with ashen, skin tone and that was exposed from taking her helmet off. But her head was resting on drawn up knees as she just....hid from the open sky for a while.
