BIOGRAPHY.
(TW for death mention, more specifically a car accident. It’s marked on the paragraph where it’s discussed.)
Irene is your stereotypical youngest child - loud, outgoing, always getting away with more than she should. She doesn’t seem to care much for anything other than amusing herself.
The Murphys have resided in the town for generations but her father had never insisted any of his kids stay there. So it bewildered people, that a girl so hell-bent on experiencing everything life has to offer doesn’t want to leave her hometown. But Irene has never thought about leaving Holy Cross permanently. She’s content here. Sure, it gets mind-numbingly boring at times but she’s a firm believer that that is exactly why the town needs her, it would be so much worse if she were to leave.
(TW: Death, Car accident) Although she’s always been close with her parents, that wasn’t really the case with her siblings. They got along most of the time but Markos prefered being out with his friends and her and Dorian couldn’t be more different from each other if they tried. Dorian was studious and diligent and desperate to escape Holy Cross. And escape he did. After landing himself a spot in a good college and moving out, his calls home became rarer and rarer, his trips to their hometown basically nonexistent. It had been three weeks since Irene had spoken to him when the call came. The roads were slippery, the driver was drunk and Dorian didn’t live to celebrate his 21-st birthday.
It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly ten years when she can still envision her brother’s perpetual frown so clearly. They don’t talk about him nowadays, nor about the hole he left behind. Irene doesn’t, at least.
She’d bounced between the jobs offered in Holy Cross for some time but her parents have always suspected she was going to be an artist in some way - she did single-handedly destroy decorate the living room wallpaper with her crayons at only 4 years old. Still, the determination with which she hunted down a nearby tattoo studio where she can have her apprenticeship took everyone close to her by surprise. Her persistence with the craft maybe even more so. And now, she’s a practising tattoo artist (and occasionally helps out at the repair shop, when her dad asks her to). At least, as practising as she can be in a town as small as Holy Cross. Luckily, she still lives in her childhood bedroom so at least she doesn’t have to worry about paying rent.
She just wants to be happy, live a life with no regrets and no what-ifs left to haunt her. It leads to a lot of poorly thought out choices and while Irene is somewhat aware of it she very much refuses to acknowledge it and brushes any concerns about her carelessness off.
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
childhood best friends turned strangers. people grow apart, it’s normal, it happens, but it always stings to remember you used to talk with this person for hours on end when the closes thing to a conversation you’ve had in months is that one time you nodded to each other in the grocery store
partner(s) in crime. someone who goes along (willingly or not so willingly) with her bullshit, someone she can rely on to have her back and she can drag out of bed at the oddest hours to do some dumb shit
a good influence. someone who’s tired of her immaturity and wants to help her slow down a bit because life isn’t always about going full throttle and taking the bull by the horns.
more general ideas. i love love love a good friendship (or fifty). but also she can be extremely annoying so anyone that dislikes her or straight up hates her is always more than welcome. exes, past crushes. any mentors willing to put up with her shit. i’m absolutely down to clown hehe
