Sadly, I think the answer is because Violet's wild younger self craves for romance and sex, while Eloise craves university, travel, and independence from men.

WAIT okay i only just put together/remembered that Eloise WENT TO SCOTLAND WITH FRAN AND JOHN AND MICHAELA??!!

okay the the reason the excites me is because I’ve been saying how I feel like I can’t imagine any possible way for Eloise to meet Michaela and not immediately see herself in her and realize that she, too, is gay 😂

So now I have a silly headcannon that perhaps part of Michaela’s “chaos” that upset Fran so much was actually Michaela taking Eloise out on the town and wing manning her with the ladies like cmonnn it would make so much sense
