Need it to be you
also a poem from the new, unreleased collection. very possibly my own all-time favourite.
the thing that bothers me with 7 deadly sin based characters is when they cant decide if they embody the sin by suffering from it or by drawing it out of others. ie. if your gluttony demon is a guy who loves eating then your lust demon should be a gooner sex pest. and if your lust demon is a seductive girlboss then your gluttony demon should be a 5 star chef. does this make sense.
there's a jewish story about a rich man who goes to his rabbi to ask him about building an orphanage, and the rabbi is like "yeah duh go for it!!" and then later the rich guy comes back and is like "actually I've decided not to... I was just doing it for my own image and not coz I cared about orphans" and the rabbi was like "bitch the orphans don't care why you're building the orphanage!!!" and sometimes I wish I could say that to lefties who haven't unpacked their christian upbringing. sometimes motives don't matter!! who give a fuck why a politician wants to do a good thing? bitch the orphans don't!!
This bumps up directly against the deep-seated christian beliefs that a) actually yes the reasons do matter and if you do good deeds for sinful reasons it's just as bad as doing bad deeds, and b) charity should only be the domain of the church. eg it's all well and good for the church to run a soup kitchen, but if some wealthy pensioner who's bored after retirement does it instead? That's suspicious, he's trying to turn the needy away from god, or he's trying to inflate his own ego, or he could even be acting from the pure unalloyed goodness of his heart and love for his fellow human beings, but the devil is still working through him.
And keeping all this in mind I look at the current state of disk horse online and I'm like. huh. A lot of these folks grew up christian probably

Since Dashington is gone, where will the demos be uploaded next? Definitely jumping up and down to read my babe Morgan again!! At your own pace though, hoping the writing is going well! 🫶
The demos are now on cogdemo: https://cogdemos.ink/go/3875
You'll be able to find the new demos there from now on!
Hope that helps! Thank you so much for the ask :)
Please Ava, when will you spare a kiss for the detective 😩🤲
It's here! The demo for chapters 3 and 4 for Book 4 of The Wayhaven Chronicles is HERE!!!
https://dashingdon.com/play/seraphinite/the-wayhaven-chronicles-book-four-demo/mygame/
This link now supersedes the Patreon early access link.
(We're aware that Dashingdon will be closing down at the end of the month, so we'll be putting the demo up in an alternative location when we get the chance! Don't worry, the demos will still be available. Hope you enjoy this demo update, as well as the future one to come, hehe! :D)
I'm convinced Mythbusters needs a reboot. Misinformation or mythinformation if you will, is at an all time high. We NEED the show that promotes critical thinking to come back. It doesn't need the same cast, in fact I think it would be better with some fresh faces. Imagine all the good it would do if you could just show your crazy uncle the Mythbusters reboot episode that debunks his anti-vaxx conspiracy in an easily digestible and entertaining format.
literally so embarrassing to have someone go "i don't go here" or "what's this from?" on my art and it's a rarepair/crackship that is in no way representative of the source material... and i have to be like. well you see, the rest of the restaurant's menu is not like this. i'm doing my own thing eating black olives right out of the can in the back-of-house. whether or not you want me to throw you a can, you have to understand that's not what they serve out front
Sometimes you notice someone eating good olives out of a can and that's what gets you interested in the rest of the auraunt
Reblog to make it die faster
Like to charge, reblog to cast.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but if the phrase "self care" doesn't resonate with you, try calling it "system maintenance" and see if that clicks.
Reblogging to add amazing tags from @meta-theory
#this both makes things more fun and also is a really good analogy#because there are four types of system maintenance and that makes the term much more exact than the nebulous ''self-care''#and therefore much more helpful to those of us who uhhh struggle with nebulosity#for anyone curious the four types are:#1. corrective (to fix current problems)#2. preventative (to avoid future problems)#3. adaptative (to re-adjust to any changes)#4. perfective (to work towards a better system)#I really like this idea I'm gonna make a checklist
This is how I am explaining self care to my kids now.

its a shame ditherpunk never took off
What’s that?
pixel art but in 1-bit, i.e. only black or white pixels. you create shading via dithering, or densities of black pixels vs white pixels, hence “dither punk.”
It’s lo-fi and retro in a very goth way
Only slightly related - the GIFs above are all visuals from the video game Return of the Obra Dinn. The game is by the same guy as Papers, Please and is about an insurance investigator trying to uncover the mystery behind the Obra Dinn, a ship that left with a full crew and returned devoid of life and in tatters. The player goes backward and forward through time and uses clues in each scene to fill out a list of crewmates and their various means of death. It’s a very fun game, especially with friends!
@mimeparadox noted the surprising appearance of a cordless phone in 2x9. I found Scylla using one in 2x4 and 2x7, as well. No docking station for the one in the Spree house, as shown by the 3rd picture. The one in the fourth picture has a plastic antenna rather than a metal one, and the handle is rounder, indicating that Scylla was indeed at a different location in the Cession after 2x8, not using the same phone as before. (Though it seems, not at the Collar house, as 2x7 showed that Edwin's phone was corded.)
And this is possibly the most advanced communication technology we see in the show? No sign of if the Camarilla have invented earwigs yet.
