Hi everyone, welcome to this blog.

I’m a black woman with a passion for makeup, and as someone who has been  dissapointed by a lot of makeup products I get very excited when I encounter something that works for my complexion. I also get excited about black women succeding in life, and the J.Glow palette by Jackie Aina in collaboration with E.L.F cosmetics, is both!

I bought this palette on elfcosmetics.com when it launched around a month ago, and was super excited. This past week as I was getting ready for work a thought crossed my mind; “What if I create all my eye-looks for this work week using this palette?” It’s something I haven’t done before, or at least not on purpose. So I decided to go for it and to share it with the world because, why the hell not?

Here’s the palette in question

Look #1

Gold lid with navy outer corner and taupey crease. This look made me go “I feel very pretty today” it was smokey but still daytime wearable. Most pics were taken before I decided I wanted to make this post so I’m sorry for the quality.

Look #2

  Shimmery gray on the lid with dark brown on the outer corner for definition, and navy on the lower lash line (not really noticeable)

A more subtle smokey eye, brown on the lid, blended with taupe at the crease and navy as a liner.

  Look #4

Boldest one and probably my favorite, navy blue on the lid, brown on the outer corner with a cat eye effect, taupe was used for blending and grey shimmer on the inner corner.

Look #5

  Last day and sleep deprived I wanted something simple, so I used the gold shadow all over the lid and the brow to give some definition to the eye, used some of the taupe to keep it from being too smokey.

Overall, this eye palette is great. The shadows are blendable and they are buildable. You don’t get a huge amount of pigment on the first application but I think that’s okay, you just have to build up to your desired finish. This post basically shows it’s great for travelling since it’s so diverse.

Huge congrats to Jackie Aina on this, it’s an amazing product and I hope she keeps succeding.
