by the way since we're doing curlcourse again, I might as well throw in what's probably my most inflammatory take:

if you deep-down believe any single player in the league personally strongly opposes Curl and her beliefs, you need to get less parasocial about that player

doubly so if you think that player chooses to express their opposition to Curl's beliefs by laying hits or fighting with her on the ice.

Haley Winn landed the most hits on Curl in the season and also liked her Fierce Hockey collaboration. Abby Roque got a black eye in a fight with her and also was at her wedding hugging her in pictures.

I'm not saying every player in the league believes trans women should be excluded from women's sports (and medically transitioning trans men should be excluded from all professional sports). I don't believe that either.

What I am saying is that you cannot invest that much hope in the politics of a celebrity you don't know who has never spoken openly about politics, and right now, that applies to every player in the league
