I've been out of the fic game for so long but have you guys ever seen This is My House? It's this British show where a panel has to guess who out of 4 people is actually the owner of a house while the 4 people have to convince the judges that they're actually the owner of the house to win like two thousand pounds?
The house the judges see today is quite clean but not sterile. Clean in an aesthetic way, there was definitely some messes but it made the house feel more lived in. White with blues, kind of coastal which was a little funny when the house was set in the middle of the bumfuck countryside. There's an American flag hung up somewhere (it's Logan, I'm positive there'd be a flag on a wall of there wasn't one hanging from a flagpole or the window) hinting that either one or both people living there weren't from the UK. Unless they both were and for some weird reason they had the US flag up.
There were racing trophies being displayed in a glass cabinet in the sitting room, the names engraved onto plaques being blurred out to avoid cheating. As the camera pans to the side, a golden retriever is seen lounging on a dog bed, dead to the world.
HERE WE MEET OUR CONTESTANTS:
Oscar Piastri, 24 years old, Australian
Alex Albon, 29 years old, Thai-British
Kyle Kirkwood, 27 years old, American
Liam Lawson, 23 years old, New Zealander
["Maybe it could be this Kyle fellow? He's American, there's an American flag"
"By that logic it could be Liam too since there was a kiwi sitting in the fruit bowl on the counter."
"Well, I'm so sorry David. It's called first impressions, is it not? I'm giving my first impression am I not?"]
The contestants go off in pairs, answering the hosts questions on the backstory of certain things in the house, certain tidbits, personal anecdotes.
["It can't be that Albon guy. He didn't even know where the spatula was"
"No, I think that's just the face of a man who doesn't cook. Pity, that kitchen is absolutely gorgeous"
"I don't think it's Oscar. He looked just too disconnected, as if it wasn't his house at all. Barely could say anything about the story of why there was a gigantic dent on the cooker hood"
"Nah didn't you see his face? That was the face of a guilty man. Probably didn't say much cause he was embarrassed on how the dent got there in the first place"]
So in the show, they'll have the owner's partner make an appearance and the 4 people have to convince the panel that that's their partner. Essentially Logan's gonna be the partner in this case. Kyle is up first. He genuinely just came to the show for shits and giggles, doesn't even care about the money. Like you'd expect him to yk, be back at home, spending time with family and friends during the off season but nope, he's out here, in the UK, pretending (badly) that yes Logan is his partner. Bros not even trying, he's legit just taking the piss
How did you two meet?
"Well, actually we were childhood friends before. Never really thought of us being together was a possibility until we were eating some alligator we caught on our SwampCruiser2752 max turbo engine v80 7000 horsepower, yk as one does, that I realised I could be eating something better. Wayyy better." Then cue a very dramatized zoom in of Kyle doing the absolute most, licking his lips, biting it then we cut to the panel of judges looking absolutely horrified, a this was supposed to be a family show dammit written on their faces.
What's your favourite feature or characteristic of your partner?
"Nothing, I hate him"-Liam
"Probably his kindness"-Oscar
"Oh when did it start getting sappy? *Nervous laughter* Um, probably his eyes"- Alex
"Obviously his tiny ass waist and fat a-" Kyle *got cut off because the show didn't wanna lose its PG rating. SPEAK UR TRUTH KYLE*
Now, we move on to the elimination. Yes there IS an elimination. The contestants have to vote on who they'd like to kick out of 'their' home and whoever has the most votes has to turn in their keys.
"Im voting Liam"-Alex
"Liam"-Kyle
"Agreed"-Oscar
"Yea, Liam"-Liam
And then there were three. Any guesses on who's actually going to be OTP?
