Summary: Mo Guan Shan receives a phone call, right after leaving his father.
The sun shone the same, the air felt the same, his motherâs warm hand on his shoulder was the same, but he ⌠he was someone else.
He walked out in the open air, standing taller. A real man would live up to his promise, and that was what he was going to become.
His phone ringtone went off, waking him from his reverie. He sighed as he saw who was calling.
âArenât you going to answer?â his mother asked, and he just nodded solemnly.
A real man would not cower and run from the likes of He Tian.
âWhere are you?â He Tian asked directly.
âI had something important to do,â he replied, not wanting to hide or run. Not this time.
There was a small silence stretching on the other end.
âIt was. It is,â he added hastily.
He Tianâs voice was neutral, void of emotion.
âYeah, Iâm okay,â he replied.
âGreat,â He Tian exhaled on the other end.
âWhy did you call?â he questioned, unnerved by the new small silence.
âTo ask you to come home.â
He looked cautiously at his mom who was patiently waiting for him to finish his call.
He Tian stopped mid-sentence and Mo Guan Shanâs heart stopped with it.
âI need you to do the dishes,â He Tian said in a heartbeat.
âBite me, He Tian,â Mo Guan Shan cut off the conversation.
âReady to go, honey?â his mother asked.
His phone buzzed with an incoming message.
Iâm glad youâre okay.
He shook his head and snorted, earning a small curious look from his mom.
This time he chose to reply.
Dishes can wait, Jerk Tian.
It didnât take long for the other to reply again.
