@lauri3n
you have this superpower! BUT you have this side-effect
is it worth it?
yes!!
the side effect is bad but ITS WORTH IT
meh it's okay
the side effect makes it unusable/not worth it
Results/option I didn't think of
Shape shifting but no one believes me? WHO CARES?!?!
This is an anti-despair checkpoint! You must share something you're looking forward to before scrolling on.
"Making a better burger is literally so simple, I don't know why McDonald's doesn't do it this way. First we're going to begin by craft dry-aging this A5 wagyu beef with the sho-shu-ryuba technique that I learned at a restaurant you're only allowed to work at if your parents are bluelinked on wikipedia..."
This post continues to occasionally strike a nerve in the trust fund baby influencer fandom.
why did my neighbors name their wifi network this
what’s the point of having a wifi network and not naming it something like this
Oh the fun you can have with network naming…
…
This is my joy.
This made me look at networks near me and:
Once again, happy to report we also have a local bat cave.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Someone at an old job asked why I wanted to write up the meeting minutes for our team and I said 'i wanna control the narrative' and they were like 'what' and I pointed out that no one was gonna remember what we said in six months and so my interpretation of the meeting would dictate the assumed reality of what happened
"none of you ever send corrections when I offer the draft so y'all have consented to my version"
"we don't read that shit"
"you must trust me implicitly to create our shared reality that's so sweet"
That's how several coworkers decided I was a supervillain and how I learned several coworkers didn't understand record keeping as like a CONCEPT
What a highly specific and devastating word
Why doesn't English have that word it describes teenagerhood perfectly
dear smut writers,
to lave means to wash/bathe/lap at, and it's in basically every sex scene ever
a lathe is a machine that smoothes a spinning piece of wood or metal by cutting thin layers off it, and it's also in an unfortunate number of sex scenes
so when you say things like this:
I am imagining things like this:
Is this what they mean by CNC kink?

I feel like there is a somewhere in between point. It sounds like the OP has aphantasia like I do. I can’t picture ANYTHING in my head, so long descriptions do absolutely nothing for me. But I’m not one to skip details Willy-nilly. Tbh, I think sometimes it is acceptable to skip long chunks of dialogue when it’s unnecessary, a point is being belabored, or if you’ve already read the book before and don’t like that part😉 I’ll give examples of all three.
1. Unnecessary: If it’s something that is not relevant to the story at all and the author has gone on a complete tangent. One example that comes to mind is the description of the Parisian Sewer System in Les Mis, a section that spans anywhere from 15-40 pages depending on the version you’re reading. It’s irrelevant to the story, tedious, exceedingly long, and skipping it won’t affect your understanding of the story.
2. Point being belabored: If a point/description has gone on for way too long, it’s okay to skip some stuff. For example, if you’re reading a book and the characters are climbing a mountain, if there are pages upon pages of mountain scenery, it’s okay to skip some of it to get back to the actual plot.
3. You’ve already read it: If you’ve read a book a bunch of times, you can skip the parts you don’t like. When I was a kid and I read Harry Potter, after the first few times I read the books, I would skip the parts with the Dursley’s. I already knew what happened, I wasn’t reading a part I didn’t like again.
why is this post completely broken in every way imaginable
Broken notes… deactivated account… removed image….
Finally, we have them all.
In addition: OP’s name is just… gone. No “[insert username]-deactivated[insert a bunch of numbers]” as is the standard for deactivated blogs.
Just the world “deactivated.” Look upon their post, ye mighty, and despair.
It’ll be almost impossible to find this post unless it wanders across your dash.
It wandered across mine. I shall help it travel forward.

Item: jimono
Someome in the notes was asking it its a Jimono vs a Jukata! And after years of wearing some of my own grandmother's kimonos and yukatas, I have the answer!
This outfit is specifically a Jimono! (Jean kimono) heres how you can tell-
Tell 1) Kimonos typically (pretty much always) have somthing called a Han-eri and a Nagajuban. A nagajuban is a thinner robe like fabric worn under nearth the kimono to keep the kimono clean from your body, and itn has a Han-eri (thick collar) which is usually decorated to create an extra layer of texture and style. In the photo we can clearly see a beutiful blue and white han-eri peaking over her kimono colar :). Yukatas do not have this as they are ment to be as breezy as possible!
Tell 2) in blue we have the Sode or sleeves! Which are typically much shorter in a yukata. Although yukata sleeves can be pretty long by western standards, kimonos tend to have much more structured sleeves by comparison. Its a tad hard to see but this one is on the longer side! (Though there are kimonos that are even longer!) So we know from a glance it has be a kimono.
Tell 3) from the screen shot we know this was posted some time in May! Thats a bit too early for summer time activities. Yukata are almost always worn around the hotter months of summer. Due to festival taking place in the sweltering heat. Because this is early may, we can assume it was worn for some type of spring gathering :). If fact events like Tokamachi Kimono Festival are held during this time! A Festival where people from all over Japan wear their best kimonos in public display! They even hold yearly competitions.
Tell 4) last but not least! Jeans are naturally thick! And thick fabric is not usually worn for yukata! All kimonos your going to find in denim online are going to be kimonos only due to their quiality and linning. (Yes you can buy one online right now!) It's that simple haha. Somthimes its the obviously stuff.
Fun fact!) in red here we have what is known as an Obi. These lovely stripes of fabric are worn with both yukatas and kimonos as they are quite literally the belt that ties everything together. In this picture the artist got very fancy and has fashioned one long strip of jean pants into a belt! Very creative!! Somone else pointed out that the bow was missing. What's intresting about this obi is not actually what it is, but how its tied. Typically obis are tied in the back with a bow. In this case the bow is omited to show off the Obi-jime. A very thin braided cord that adds as extra decoration for a yukata or kimono This is likey so they could show off the obi-jime as much as possible. Tho it could also be that denim is very hard to fold into a bow and they wanted to streamline the process. Although obi-jime is often worn with yukatas they are far more populare with kimonos. It's unfortunate that we cant see but I am almost 100 certain that it is tied in the back. The simple style is a refreshingly masculine and fits the jean fabric well.
slightly furious reminder that fish do in fact feel pain and do in fact experience fear and distress when in pain since people seem to love spreading the myth that fish don't feel pain. what is it with people assuming a creature is incapable of feeling pain or emotion just because it doesn't have complex facial muscles. come on gang
As my main income, I work with fish in a specialty pet store that's privately owned (so I'm allowed to say no and be stern to customers when it's needed).
You learn really quickly that not only do fish have individual personalities and emotions but they also have memories and recognize people! There are certain fish who will only come out for me and hide for everyone else. The pufferfish spits at me because she gets pissy that I haven't fed her. The flowerhorn bites everyone but me and my coworker when we clean his tank. I trained a fire eel to come up and eat directly out of my hand.
Fish are beautiful complex creatures and I thank the universe everyday that I get to work in a place where I'm encouraged to tell animal abusers to fuck right off.
I had a betta fish when I was in college, Alexander the Great (ATG for short). And that little fish had PERSONALITY. He’d throw a fit if I changed the gravel to a new color and he didn’t approve, would come to the side of the tank to greet me, and had very specific preferences on his fish food. He was a good fish.
What the fuck.
excuse me??
