"MILAN, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" Ashanti yelled from where she hid. her gun positioned in front of her face, ready to shoot anyone attempting to harm. the two found themselves miles away from the city in a family cabin. there they hoped for safe shelter, but that was short lived. Milan's father was out for blood, even if it meant killing his own daughter- he was sure to get the job done.
Milan silently sniffled, panting to catch her breath as she peaked her head from behind the barrel. "I'M NOT LEAVING YOU!" she readjusted her position to make a quick run in Ashanti's direction. Luckily she was quick with it, leaping into the woman's arms like they have been separated for years.
"This ain't the time for you to be stubborn Mimi. I need you to go.." Ashanti's voice cracked while she reached for her cheek to cup. She took in her beautiful features, admiring her very existence because she knew very well that this could be her last breath. "I'm trying to protect you."
"And i'm trying to protect you." Milan sniffled, the taste of salty teardrops staining her tongue. She was adamant about staying right by her side, and if that meant learning how to use a gun for the first time, she was willing to do whatever it took not to lose the love of her life. "I don't know what i'd do if anything happened to you."
It was probably the most honest thing i've ever said to myself. My heart never beat for any man like this. This love was unexpected. It came in and just swept me off of my feet.. But because we come from two different worlds, our destinies collide. Everything is chaotic, but that still hasn't kept me away from her.. it hasn't kept her from wanting to love me. Where i'm from, homosexuality is looked down upon like a disease. My family never approved of same sex relationships and marriages, so imagine my surprise when they disowned me.. Exactly, there was none. I expected that from them at the most, but endangering my life because i declined an arranged marriage proposition to follow my heart, that never crossed my mindโฆ It hurts so bad. So you're damn right i'll do everything to protect her, because Ashanti is all the family i have left. The world has always been cold, but my life is frozen in time that refuses to pass.
I know you're wondering how we even got this far, but let me just rewind and take you all the way back to the very beginning. The day I crossed paths with Ashanti Mayers, the day my world was turning completely upside down.
