Happy New Year's 2026!
Thought I'd kick off my blog with some fanart! Hilda Berg and Goopy Le Grande from Cuphead. These two are my favorite bosses from the game and I really wish we could have seen them in the show.
Anyway I call this ship Oozeppelin!

Boxing...?
Ha, well I initially thought it was nothing but a bunch of sweaty brutes smacking each other around for sport. Very refined, I know. But then, I went to a match- purely out of curiosity, mind you!- And, well, I may have gotten, uh, a little caught up in it. Turns out it's...exciting. Especially when a certain...competitor...is in the ring.
Who happens to be very bouncy. And determined. And-oh stars, fine, it was Goopy. Not that I care. I absolutely do NOT sit there on the edge of my seat cheering him on!
Ugh, never mind. Boxing is fine. Perfectly fine. That's all.
Which do you prefer moonrise or moonset?
Moonrise or Moonset? Oh, please, as if there's ever a wrong answer when it comes to the moon! They're both wonderful, infinitely better than that garish daytime nonsense everyone else seems to enjoy.
But if I have to choose?
Moonrise, definitely.
It's the grand opening act, the signal that the day is done and clocking out, and the real show, MY show, can begin. Moonrise means I've got the whole glorious night ahead of me, and nothing beats that!

Not all that much is known about the characters in the canon Cuphead universe, so of course, a few details about Hilda are my own interpretations and headcanons or have been developed in this blog by roleplay. Please respect these when interacting!
☆ This takes place post-game.
☆ Hilda is 23 years old.
☆ Hilda herself is a Scorpio. Specifically, she is a Scorpio Sun, Gemini Moon, and Leo Rising.
☆ She can turn into all of the signs of the western zodiac, from Aries to Pisces.
☆ Hilda is, for the most part, nocturnal. She sleeps mostly in the day and stays up at night. She keeps a journal where she tracks the phases of the moon, star patterns, and astrology predictions.

☆ Hilda comes from a long family of fortunetellers.
☆ Hilda and Cuphead and Mugman have a strained relationship- they're practically next door neighbors. While Hilda has forgiven them for defeating her, she finds them to be annoying, especially when their shenanigans end up waking her up from a midday nap.
☆ Hilda signed a contract with the Devil when he promised her "powers and knowledge beyond her wildest dreams". She is still extremely sore on the subject of being tricked and doesn't like talking about it.
☆ Hilda has a huge crush on Goopy Le Grande. At first they simply started out as friends, but Goopy's good nature brought out the best in Hilda. She is extremely sensitive about her infatuation, and hasn't altogether come to terms with her feelings yet.
☆ Hilda and Bonbon are the kind of friends that love to gossip together, but then constantly gossip about each other behind the other's backs. Classic frenemies.
☆ Hilda is actually a decent cook, and her favorite food is Sky Pancakes and Rainbow Tea.

Goopy hops up with a joyful smile on his face. "Hey there Cagney! Long time no see!" He extends a hand ending in a red boxing glove and raises his eyebrows. "I don't usually venture far out of the forest, but I'm on my way back from visiting a friend and I thought I'd take a bounce around for a change of pace. Fancy seeing you here, how long has it been? Well, anyhow, how are ya?!"
Cagney, instead of returning the handshake, sneers and crosses his arms. "Thought I told'ja to watch where you're bouncin' around here," he grouches, eyes peering over Goopy to make sure the blob hadn't carelessly squashed any of the wildflowers.
He then clicks his tongue, shaking his head, appearing unthrilled to see the familiar face. "I'm peachy, thank you very much. Now please don't tell me y'need a favor." The long fingers of one leafy hand taps annoyedly in rhythm against his crossed arms.
Goopy isn't bothered at all by Cagney's unfriendliness. Instead, he just brightens at the words. "Well, I guess that depends," he says with some cheekiness, withdrawing his hand and putting it thoughtfully to what would have been a chin.
"Does your knowledge expand to just flowers?" He motions towards some trees in the distance. "What about those?" He raised an eyebrow. "They're kinda similar, am I right?"
"Y'think I don't know anythin' about trees?" Cagney deadpans. He leans his head down to glower at Goopy, attempting to look threatening by towering over him.
"What're you gettin' at? I don't have time for questions from numskulls," he says, knowing fully well that he has all the time in the world.
Goopy looks up at Cagney glaring down at him and just beams back.
"Well, you see, it's almost the holidays, and I wanted to celebrate by finding a tree to spruce up and decorate for the occasion." He clasps his gloves together excitedly.
"I think something like that would bring a lot of festiveness to the Isle, don't you? So how's about the two of us go and find the perfect tree together?!"

Obviously, scanning the stars!
There's so much to learn, and the skies fascinate me!
But if there's one thing I enjoy more, it's stargazing with my friend Goopy!
Goopy loves hearing the stories about the stars and constellations!
Usually after a day of him practicing his boxing technique, he likes to join me at my observatory and learn about the cosmos!
He's one of the only ones who really is interested in my passion, so it makes those moments very special. I never get bored when he's around!

"Thanks- that's very thoughtful," she said stiffly, heart accelerating. "But I haven't gotten a gift for you..."
Goopy just keeps on smiling. "Don't worry about that, Hilda! C'mon, try them on and let me see how they look!"
