freya
“My little sister told me today that October is too cold to go camping. Who is she trying to kid? It’s never too cold to go camping, you can only be dressed inappropriately.” Frustration had taken over Freya’s voice as she shook her head, arms folding over her chest. “I think that’s just her way of politely saying she wants to drink with her college friends instead, because camping with her big sister is uncool – I can’t even blame her. But getting drunk with me at a fire would have been pretty cool as well, she’s missing out.”
“She's totally missing out," Olivia offered in an attempt to be supportive toward her friend's wounded ego. Personally speaking the blonde couldn't say she faulted the younger Russo for finding any excuse she could to get out of camping because Liv would have done the same and probably had done the same to Freya multiple times over the course of their life long friendship. She just wasn't an outdoorsy kinda girl but that didn't mean she didn't feel for her. “You can take Halley if you want?” Every self help book about grieving she’d consumed since the death of her brother-in-law a couple weeks ago told her children grieved in cycles and desired breaks from grieving to have fun, laugh, be given a chance to still be children. And camping seemed like a perfect chance to allow her niece the opportunity to distance herself from sadness for a day or two. “Of course if you take Halley that means I'm coming too. And maybe just maybe I wont complain the entire time this time around.”
odette
Working in a tavern meant that more often than not, she had to step in when a couple of patrons got a little too ‘heated’ in an argument, or debate. Today was no different. And as the blonde did her best to intervene, she proceeded to tap at the arm of seemingly ‘sober’ of the two, indicating that they needed to just settle down and be the bigger person. “I don’t think they’re going to listen to reason — just let it go.” Odette added, shaking her head at the situation before taking a deep exhale, eyes scanning the room for any support should she need it.
Liv rarely made a habit of involving herself in potential bar fights but truth be told she needed the distraction. And it wasn't like she was capable of ignoring the situation entirely with Odette’s gaze falling upon her. “Go home, Anthony,” the blonde piped from her place by the bar, ocean hues shifting from her friend to the man she stood next to. “You’re already on thin ice with the captain. You heard what he said last time you were at the station, one more misdemeanor and you’ll end up behind bars for longer than a night.” The blonde couldn't be sure whether her words were the persuading factor or if Anthony had just decided the last thing he wanted to do with his night is be lectured by two blonde women but either way the desired effect was reached. She watched with mild satisfaction as he released the collar of the other man and sauntered out of the building. “Look at that, he left, I hope you know this means I expect a free drink for compensation of my services.”
archer
Standing on the overgrown lawn of an old house, white picket fence not so white anymore, and not so intact either, Archer looked at the decaying home with lightly narrowed eyes. The windows were boarded up, and even from the distance, he could see the rot in the wooden porch, abandonment lingering in every little detail. At the sound of footsteps behind him, he turned around to see a person heading in his direction, eyeing an opportunity for potential information. “Hey,” he started, catching their full attention. “—you know who used to live here?”
A single golden leaf carried by a spiral of invisible breeze blew past the blonde landing lightly a few feet away as she trudged up the steep hill in search of the man who left her behind in the car. With her phone now dead and incapable of keeping her entertained, she couldn’t help but find herself curious as to why he’d driven them toward the edge of town in the first place. Fallen leaves crunched under the weight of her clumsy steps, ocean colored hues in search for the detective she found herself tasked with helping before finally spotting him in front of what looked to be a clearly abandoned piece of property. “Can’t you tell? The bogey man, of course,” Liv offered, her tone coming across sarcastic despite it being an attempt at a joke.
"That...was supposed to be a....never mind I don’t know. The answer is I don’t know but give me an hour at the library and that’ll change. They keep every census anyone in town has ever filled out in the basement. So if someone lived here in the last fifty to one hundred years, I’ll find out.”
